We delivered our #newpizza to our harshest critics.

In December of 2009, Domino’s Pizza chefs Sam Fauser and Brandon Solano hit the road to find out what our critics would think of the #newpizza they inspired. Two cameras went along for the ride to capture their reactions.

1 week ago we ordered two pizzas, 1 hand-tossed and the other thin-crust. The thin-crust pizza was burned on the edges and cut in numerous bite-size pieces. The old style was better and never burned.

    • Guy Dallaire | on January 23, 2010

**IMPORTANT** I believe a huge oversight is maybe going on here in the Domino’s company. As a member of the Navy, I happen to travel alot. I have had Domino’s from three different cities and they are all different. The one in my hometown Quebec City (on Chemin Sainte-Foy) is by far the best for service and quality. I ALWAYS order my pizza there with my friends. But I have tried it in Halifax, NS and Victoria, BC only to be very very disappointed and never order from those particular places when I am there.

So my point is the following. What efforts are concretely being done to supervise the quality in each individual restaurant/franchise. It takes good leadership and employee follow up to make sure the quality is the same everywhere and I feel this issue has not been adresses in the add campaign. In the meantime, i’ll keep ordering where I usually do.

I have yet to try the new recipies but I am looking forward to it. Good luck guys!

      • Ollie Shenberg | on January 24, 2010

I am not in the Navy, but also travel a lot. I 100% agree with you and understand your thoughts. Thank you for serving for our country.

        • Stephen Marcs | on February 13, 2010

I’ve tried this new pizza and it is great!
Not the Dominos of old! Much improved!
Sauce is zesty, crust is flavorful, cheese is milky, and the toppings are pretty good.
They also have a white sauce that I like in light amounts, or, you can choose a BBQ sauce that I also like in light amounts (you can create a pizza online with these options) as well, instead of the new zesty sauce.
I wish I could get substitute cheeses for the regular cheese sometimes, maybe a light mix with cheddar or provolone, for free.
It’s fun choosing between the options online, so it’d be nice to have a few more options with the cheese, like I have for the sauces.
I like to mix and match. :)

          • Sarah Box | on February 19, 2010

You can choose between different cheeses when you build your pizza online. I checked my reciept and the prices are the same…

      • SStuart | on January 26, 2010

This is absolutely true, and I think this is the main reason we’re seeing so many mixed reactions.

        • Albert | on February 6, 2010

This is EXACTLY why we are seeing mixed reaction. Dominos now has a new problem that is called “Standardization and consistency”. One crappy location ruins it for the rest. I experienced the same. An exceptional pizza two weeks ago. Yesterday, a disaster pizza I would not feed to my dog. This is a real problem they need to work on immediatly less it destroys the expensive campaign of improved pizza they are running.

          • Scott | on February 24, 2010

true to a point, but all in all, Domino’s has gotten much better. Their new sauces are great (love that white), the toppings are fresher, and the attitude of their entire team (from management to delivery person) is so much better. I don’t think they can do much to hurt their new campaign. Too many positives over the very few negatives, which seem to be mostly staffing issues from what I’ve read here.

      • Dan Q | on January 27, 2010

Agreed, it varies city to city. The pizza from the dominos near my office is decent, while the pizza near my home further south in Virginia is shameful. Everything, from the taste to how hot the pizza is when it arrives differs. Dominos has never taken complains/suggestions about the store near my home seriously.

        • | on January 27, 2010

at my store in Mount Vernon, IL if you get a messed up order they normally will give you coupons for free pizza’s… one time the crust on my pizza was just burned slightly and I got three free large pizza’s of my choice… so customer service is def something that should be hammered down

          • C bow | on February 5, 2010

yeah but who wants coupon where they where notorious for bad taste/ messups – hope the the new one is great

        • ronald full | on February 10, 2010

I 100% agree and also when there is turn over of employee’s, you either get bettter or worse customer service and pizza, depending on the supervision. However, this is an area I think domino’s should work on. :)

      • Jordan | on January 28, 2010

I guess we got lucky, the one in Helena,MT is amazing! I love the new recipe!!

        • Jen | on February 11, 2010

Allentown, PA – the new thin crust pizza tastes great….

        • Isaac R. | on February 15, 2010

I agree with Jordan. The Helena business did it right. I had been turned off by Dominos for 10 years. After some convincing I’m very impressed.

      • Me | on January 28, 2010

I agree with your post. My wife and I ordered the new pizzas from the store that delivers to us. It was awful. We decided immediately to remain customers of our usual joint .. let’s just call it “Pizza Shack” (or better yet, the real Itlain joint that won’t deilver to us when we don’t mind picking up). A week later, my sister and B-I-L who live a 7-10 minute drive from us, invited us over, and said they would order Domino’s as they had tried the new and liked it. We were DREADING eating more of Domino’s “nasty new pizza!” To our surprise it was excellent. But they are served by a different delivery store than us. So .. the inconsistencies obviously exist from store to store, even in the “next neighborhood over.” And this needs to be addressed quickly or this multi-million dollar makeover will be a dismal failure, and people like us will NEVER give Dominos another chance!

        • joe smo | on February 6, 2010

          dominoes SUCKS! if
you want quality eat localy belive me it always tastes better

          • Pizza Maven | on February 16, 2010

Yeah, I always support local restaurants instead of big chains whenever I can.

Domino’s sure took a long time to make a change because I remember eating their nasty cardboard/ketchup pizza 10+ years ago. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they made this change because there was a new scientific breakthrough or something that allowed their chemists to make cheaper and better-tasting flavorings. God, big chain restaurants disgust me! How can you call this stuff food?

          • Niros | on February 18, 2010

Hmmm… I disagree. I was a veteran hater… 20 years. I just had the new one tonight. It is the best chain pizza. My new favorite.

          • Lee Bob | on February 19, 2010

ever seen the southpark episode with walmart? (yes I am quoting a cartoon, because it’s true) The point was if everybody supports local then they eventually become a chain, it’s how business works. I am near Chicago and plenty of places have become chains, guess what? Their stuff sucks now! All because people supported their locals, you should try big chains little chains and the restaurants that 3 people only know about, all of it!If you like the company the way it is keep it a secret, unless they are going out of business, then tell the world to help them out. The moral? The only constant in life is change itself. Like the new dominos change, it is for the better. Big company just got better. My grandma kicks the crap out of all of them at pizza making, not a restaurant. If you want something done right, do it yourself, thats why I cook, but sometimes I’m lazy and want food now, I don’t expect the pizza to be the way I like it every time, because I’m not making it. Simple but True.

      • jojo | on January 31, 2010

u r soooooo right. i don’t no why i tried that crap. i stopped ordering from dominos over 7 yrs ago and i So regret wasting my money on it. Seriously thougH they need to just quit….stop the press. i was so dissappointed, i was HURT. NO more again. NO more.

      • | on February 4, 2010

very true..the one by my house is great Belleview Fl and I’ve been to others and there very bad

      • andrew | on February 23, 2010

I am currently in the US Navy and think the new Domino’s recipe is far better than the last. I know that the Domino’s here in Groton, Ct does a fantastic job when it comes to their customers.

    • amber alice carter | on January 23, 2010

Absolutely delicious! My family has always oredered from dominos and as a college student I still do. I honestly think that dominos has always tasted better than the cardboard crust of the frozen pizzas. I must say though, the new recipe is much better. I also think that maybe the customer service should be worked on. Perhaps since there are so many stores, the company should require regional workshops where at least the managers of each store are required to go.

    • Jakoby Schaller | on January 24, 2010

I completely agree!! I hate the new pizza. My kids like it much better, but I won’t eat it again. Maybe Domino’s should have 2 choices, Old and New!!! :) Oh, I should state that I don’t eat spicy food, so my BIGGEST turn off is the spice of the red pepper.

      • MOOSTAFA | on January 25, 2010

        you’re a wuss

        • James Smith | on February 4, 2010

People like you cause problems. You insult somebody for stating their opinion? Seriously, don’t even post if you’re just going to act like that.

          • James Smith | on February 5, 2010

east there sparky. it’s a joke. let it go..

          • Adam Wood | on February 10, 2010

He IS wuss.. seriosuly.. Spicy? more like tangy.. Time to mix some habaneros in that sauce!

      • Domino’s Pizza | on January 26, 2010

If the sauce has too much “kick” for your tastes, we’d recommend asking for “Hearty Marinara” it is much closer to our previous sauce recipe.

        • I Need Dominos Rehab | on January 26, 2010

Too much “kick”? @Domino’s Pizza: That lady Jakoby taste buds must be blander than water if she thinks it has all this spice she’s talking about. The sauce is just right, the pizza is just right.

@Jakoby: If you want the old sauce, I would recommend buying a Delorean, driving exactly 88mph during the perfect light storm…that will get you want you need. lol

          • Michele | on January 27, 2010

Not only that- but for a company to totally redo their formula, they must have been losing a lot of business. So much that they were willing to alienate ‘fans’.
I doubt Domino’s actually has many fans, just people who have few choices in ordering pizza. While the new taste isn’t great, it’s now good- which is a big deal. If it had been any blander before, it would have been made from a piece of cardboard with red paint on it which is what it tasted like to most people.

          • Ralph | on February 14, 2010

ok, I am sitting here eating this great tasting pizza and reading the comments, and now I taste it, yes, it is quite spicy…oh, now I remember, I added Jalapeno’s to the topping list! Ok then!

        • RDENISE1 | on February 4, 2010

THAT’S VERY CONCIDERATE DOMINOES, U’LL REMAIN AROUND FOR A VERY LONG TIME! AN AW, AND I LEFT OUT TO MENTION,I I BET……… DOMINOES IS MAKING MORE MONEY THAN THAN THE AVERAGE CHAIN! THEY NEED TO TRY THE 5…5…5! HAHAHA!!! AND I HAVE MONEY, IT’S NOT ABOUT THAT HERE!! I LOVE UR FOOD, AND WILL ALWAYS PATRONIZE UR COMPANY!! TRUE, THEY HAVE MADE SEVERAL MISTAKES, BUT, THEIR ONLY HUMAN!, AN THEY WILL TRY TO SUIT FIT! THEY DO BELIEVE, CUSTOMERS R ALWAYS RITE,FIRST! C’MON GUYS, LOOSEN UP!

        • SGT CG | on February 6, 2010

Dude, seriously, the new stuff doesn’t taste any different then the old stuff! And it’s still the same: Cardboard ALLover San Diego, pretty good dough, crappy toppings here on Oahu, Good Dough, GREAT toppings, DISGUSTING sauce on Maui, and great sauce, horrible EVERYTHING else in northern florida! I’ve worked for a few pizza places, and my personal opinion is you can’t beat Little Caesers price, Pizza Huts pan crust, Papa Johns ingredients, or Dominos gimicks. That’ all I’m saying. I agree with pretty much EVERYbodies ideas above, depending on the different areas I’ve been in (Yes, I’m in the military, and BEWARE of dominos overseas!!!), except I think that moostafa b|!c^ oughta remove his head from his 4th point of contact b4 he get it kicked in further!

Oh, and one more thin, another idea might be to have a standard at each store, and actually keep it! Seems to work pretty well in the military; ie: We can trade vehicles, even different units on a patrol, and all our vehicles are laid out exactly the same, so we know what to expect, and all the info on each teams AOR is laid out, so we and the locals know exactly what to look forward to.

      • Josh | on January 27, 2010

I really hope you’re not saying the roasted red peppers are spicy… They rate at 0 Scoville units, so they don’t even have measurable heat. Crushed red pepper can be hot, but only if you’re eating it directly. A day without spicy food is like a day without water.

      • Me | on January 28, 2010

The new sauce is in no way shape or form “too spicy!” Sheez! You can hardly taste the red pepper in the sauce. You must like the taste of cardboard. Or .. maybe THAT’s “too spicy” too?!

        • Amanda | on February 5, 2010

Wow what the heck? Some people (even myself) cannot handle spicy foods. Spicy foods actually destroy cells in the mouth, which can cause the pain you get. Some like it, some don’t. Even eating the slightest spice in foods will make me sick. So please, refrain from rude comments as such.

      • Pixie | on January 28, 2010

I didn’t think it was spicy at all, flavorful with herbs and seasonings, yes. Spicy, no. Unless you have taste buds like my niece, who thinks black pepper and mustard are both far too spicy. And she’s 5. :-)

      • Dustin | on January 31, 2010

If you order online at dominos.com they give you the choice between the old and new sauce.

      • Jeepers | on February 3, 2010

You’ve got to be kidding. They couldn’t have made it more plain and tasteless if they drew a picture of a pizza on a piece of paper and you ate it.

Get your pizza from the grocery store. Make sure it’s the cheapest one there. That should fix things for you.

    • rich | on January 26, 2010

After not ordering a dominos for the last 5 years I thought I would try it again at North Fort Myers Fl. It was still bad very little cheese and very little improvement.

      • | on January 27, 2010

I think it’s just your dominos… there is a really disarity on quality from one store to another… in my time in the US Marines I ate at no less than 15 different stores and the one in my home town now is by far the best… and any issues are quickly cleared up… at first the new pizza was a little greasy so they lighted up on the grease… they are constantly improving based on the responses they get online… that’s why more people order from Dominoes here than order from any of the other 4 or 5 places we have here

    • Michele | on January 27, 2010

I used to live in New York City, where there is no ‘Brooklyn Style’- there’s pizza. We have coal fired or gas-fired. And in NYC, a good pizza has a hard edge, a crust that cracks when you bend it, a sauce that doesn’t taste like sugar, and burnt, bubbly bits on the edges. that’s also what pizza is like in culinary school, too (I just graduated) and in Italy.
If you don’t like the new pizza, everyone has different tastes. but the only reason I started eating Domino’s is because I moved to a section of NJ where it’s that, or Papa john’s, and PJs is disgusting. The old Domino’s made me want to move back to NYC. The new pizza, while nowhere near perfect, tastes much closer to the pizza actually found in Italian-American neighborhoods and in Italy.
The old pizza was to real pizza what a Twinkie is to high-end cake. Some people prefer Twinkies, and there’s a market for that. But most people don’t want to eat Twinkies on a regular basis, if at all.
Guy, you may be finding some of the pizzas aren’t as good as others because pizza dough is made with water, and water varies from place to place. One of the reason NYC has such great pizza and bagels is because of the water, which can’t be replicated. I don’t know how Domino’s sources the ingredients for their products, but chances are they have local vendors, which means the taste will vary somewhat from place to place. Sorry about that.

I don’t work for Domino’s, BTW. But I do occasionally make pizza from scratch, and I have a culinary degree. As a single person who sometimes doesn’t have time to make pizza, it’s nice to get something finally that doesn’t taste like sugar-flavored cardboard.

      • judy | on February 6, 2010

i love making pizza from scratch! It always tastes better than the store-bought stuff and is usually cheaper. I also have a few different recipies depending on how fast I want the pizza and what kind of crust I need. (I never eat dominoes pizza since I do not live in the US-so I have no opinion on the subject ).

    • Frank | on January 29, 2010

I’ve tried the new pizzas numerous times, I like the new sauce, the dough and cheese. It’s a great upgrade. I think the internet is just full of a bunch of whiny, complaining babies — trust me, if they did testing like they did with the pepsi challenge in the 80’s, people would be picking the new pizzas over the old.

    • KANDI | on January 29, 2010

i looooooooooooove dominoes! i hate the new kind so everytime i order i have to say (CAN I HAVE IT THE OLD WAY PLEASE LOL NO GARLIC SAUCE ON THE BREAD NONE OF THAT) !!

      • Jeepers | on February 3, 2010

I want an option where I can ask for MORE garlic on the bread! I’m from the west coast, and trust me, we literally gave up pizza when we moved to the Midwest because it all was so bland and nasty.

I’m now ordering on occasion. The new formula makes a huge difference.

      • Heather | on February 6, 2010

I think you can ask for it without it. I ordered it once, and they forgot it… it was still better than their old crust, but didn’t have the garlic sauce on it. Try asking!

    • Critical Cari | on January 29, 2010

Domino’s old pizza was bland, and had a rubbery cheese and crust. The sauce was unoriginal and blah, boring. The crust also had an unfamiliar sweet aftertaste to it.
Now, Domino’s new hand-tossed pizza is AMAZING! I love the hand-tossed garlicy crust and the fresh taste of cheese. The tomato sauce is definitely robust and delicious. I would highly recommend it. You’ll see me order more often now! :)

    • Steven smith | on January 29, 2010

If you dont like it make it urself cuz this pizza is way better.

    • Monique | on January 29, 2010

Went to pick up my pizza from Domino’s. Watched the “pizza dough” guy rub his nose 3 times and count out money to a co worker and NOT stop once to wash his hands. Myself and another customer called him out on it. My reward? A LONG thick blonde hair nestled between the sauce and the cheese layer that my son found. Its going to take more than magic garlic crust to make us want to EVER order from Domino’s. Stay away from the Gillette Wyoming location!

    • James | on January 31, 2010

There is a musical comedy duo called Paul and Storm. They had a jingle that went like this “When your done with your Domino’s Pizza, Eat the box because it tastes the same.

So glad to see that this is no longer true!!! Love the NEW Pizza!!!!!!

    • John | on February 3, 2010

I applaud Domino’s for being honest enough to admit their faults and try to correct them. I work for a food service organization that has 365 locations over 6 states. It is extremely difficult to get the consistency from store to store unless the infrastructure is in place first. McDonalds makes it look easy when in fact it isn’t. But I dig the commercials and I am going to go out of my way to find a Domino’s and try their new recipe.

    • Emily | on February 6, 2010

I agree, Bruce. About a week or so before Domino’s changed their pizza, I had ordered a cheese pizza from them. It wasn’t the best in the world, but I enjoyed it. It was satisfying and I didn’t understand how people could actually hate it. Then I heard they made a new “formula” for their pizza and gave it a try. I hated it, I really did. It tasted dry and like a storm of various spices had rained on it. And mine was also burned. I didn’t even finish my first piece. I’m sorry Domino’s, maybe some people like this new version better, but in my opinion you should’ve stuck with the old one. Maybe you can offer both versions of the pizza to customers, then everyone would be happy.

    • jared | on February 7, 2010

i HAD DOMINOS 2 WEEKS AGO AND THIS WEEKND TO THE NEW RECIPE IS THE BEST!
so much more taste favorite pizza!!!!“

    • Joan Huf | on February 7, 2010

I am not at all keen on the changes to the pizza..The sauce is way to spicy and I’m not a fan of the garlic on the crust…I’m afraid Domino’s has lost a long time and mean long time patron…..

    • myname | on February 8, 2010

just got the new & improved domino’s pizza. it’s a huge improvement. && it was made, baked & delivered in 18 minutes. yum. -athens, alabama.

    • Joshua McClure | on February 13, 2010

I used to be a loyal Papa John’s customer. My wife told me she saw someone order on Dominos.com with their iphone and wanted to try it. It’s a pretty cool experience to see the order updated in real time. But I was expecting a crappy cardboard pizza. The pizza that arrived was spectacular! It’s funny… we went out to a “brick oven” deluxe super expensive place here in Austin and we both agreed the delivery dominos was better. Pretty weird situation that neither of us expected. I want to make sure that I state our Dominos is #6605, at 9616 N Lamar #187 Austin, TX. I’ve read other comments here that there is inconsistent quality across the Dominos franchises. I used to be a marketing VP (getting my phd now full time) and if I worked in Dominos marketing department I’d be fighting tooth and nail with the operations guys to get the consistency down! The age of social media instant information is here… customers KNOW if you have problems like this. I’m excited to be waiting on our pizza right now. But I’d be a little worried if I had to order from another location.

Also, I don’t like the attacks on Papa John’s on the Dominos web site. I think Dominos has better pizza and their prices are compelling. We ordered 2 mediums from $5.99 each then added a couple extra toppings. Papa Johns doesn’t have anything close to that deal and the pizza taste is comparable…although I like Dominos slightly better. The web site experience is also much better at Dominos. So, why does Dominos marketing department think they need to start a mud slinging match with Papa Johns. Risky and detracts from the new taste and new web site. Bad move. Joshua McClure http://joshua-mcclure.com

    • kathryn | on February 20, 2010

i ordered for the first time several weeks ago and it was so horrible i threw both of them out. my dog loves pizza crust and he wouldnt even eat it. my goodness it was so aweful. then frank said maybe it was just a bad order. so today i ordered again. so lets see what it taste like this time. i mean it was bad. i like dominos in the past it is closest to my house. i stoppe ordering from them long time ago cuz there was no cheese on it. and when i ordered extra cheese there still was no cheese on it. there go door bell pizza is here okay dominos this is your last chance at my house hold. i will let you know later.

      • kathryn | on February 20, 2010

okay i am back. the lady was so nice i told her my story and she said i should have called them they would make good on it. why would i call and how could they make good on something that tasted bad.
well lets get to the pizza the thin crust was good but i ordered green papers and mushroom and got onions instead of mushrooms and yes there was NO amount of cheese on it. now the regular crust did taste nasty but not as nasty as before but it was nasty and i didnt like it and again threw it out. i gave my dog the crust and he wouldnt even eat it. now understand jedi love pizza crust that is his nickname pizza. i will not order from dominos again. sorry guys

    • Nita in NC | on February 20, 2010

The new recipe (hand tossed crust, sauce, cheese) is excellent! It’s been 10 years since I’ve ordered Domino’s, so I figured I’d give it a chance. Glad I did! Their online status tracker rocks too! Can even track the order status on my droid phone! Woot!

    • robert | on February 22, 2010

that was the best pizza in the whole world .papa john needs to step his game he aint got nothin on dominos pizza keep up the good work guys

  2. Anthony LaMesa | on January 21, 2010

Well, I just ordered a pizza from a location in Guatemala (where I’m working until April or May) and I can confirm that Domino’s Pizza is just as disgusting as ever! The only problem is that, unlike in America, there are no decent frozen pizzas in my city down here to purchase instead.

  3. Sara | on January 21, 2010

I recently ordered a pizza only to be disappointed by the crust. It was disgusting drenched in garlic butter. Also the bottom of the pizza had too much of that powdery seed stuff on it. I liked the old recipe way better. I don’t think I’ll be ordering from domino’s anymore. Such a disappointment.

  4. Vanessa | on January 22, 2010

I fell in love with the new domino’s pizza. It is so rich in flavor. Some complained about the burnt crust (that is an employee problem and them not monitoring cook time) and others about the garlic. I enjoyed it and will continue to be a repeat costumer. Domino’s can not satisfy everyone’s individual preferences, so you either like it or you don’t.

  5. Bobby G | on January 22, 2010

This has got to be one of the best advertising campaigns of all time! What company has ever taken such a chance on berating themselves and their own product?! This took guts and I, for one, can’t wait to taste the results! Hooray for Domino’s!!!

    • Jim | on January 23, 2010

Yeah but how many of their “critics” did they interview who said “it still sucks!” You don’t think you’re ever going to see THOSE interviews on youtube, do you? :)

    • Murphy | on January 26, 2010

I hafta agree on the daring marketing there, that was the first thing that popped into my head. I just ordered the new kind of pizza and I’m pretty excited! I’ve eaten at Domino’s for years and it always leaves me satisfied. I’m not saying that its a 5 star gourmet meal, but for the price I think its a great deal.

  6. Alexa | on January 22, 2010

I abandoned Domino’s during my high school days nearly 10 yrs ago… It just wasn’t my thing… My hubby recently suggested Domino’s and I grudgingly went along though I’m used to another major chain. I am soooooo happy I did! The crust was my favorite part of the pizza! So soft; so good! My fave toppings are the Italian sausage, pineapple, green peppers, and anything else you want to toss onto that combo! Yay!!!

  7. pizzazombie | on January 22, 2010

you know what Dominos pizza not only sucks, but the people that work for them are NOTHING BUT STONERS and jerks. I’ve recently decided to try the new pizza but am kinda scared to because the ppl that work there SUCK. they always are jerks, burn things…come on.

    • wdphoenis | on January 23, 2010

sounds like you got fired who knows the people that work there? the people that worker there?

    • | on January 27, 2010

yeah I know those kind of places are the worst

    • Illy | on February 3, 2010

Those at our store are great! Tonight, they accidentally made two pizzas for our order, so they gave us the second one at no charge. They are always polite and aim to please.

  8. Corey | on January 22, 2010

I hope they read this – the old pizza – i used to eat 1-2 times/week. …i liked it a lot for some reason. The new on – SUCKS… i cant eat it – i almost drove around and gave my 1 1/2 pizza’s to a homeless person – im really not kidding. I threw it away…. how can a company screw up something worse the 2nd time around?! The crust has like a dust of crap on it – i dont like dusty feeling junk all over my crust. Im a business owner…NOT good leadership to change it like this.

    • Shawna | on January 25, 2010

Also, wait, if you’re a business owner, how is it your grammar is so horrendous? I’m sure that business does well… Oh, it’s probably not as famous as Domino’s…

    • JJ | on January 26, 2010

Then why didn’t you give it to the homeless person? I’m confused. You’d rather throw away food?

  9. Steve | on January 22, 2010

..with this pile of junk you just converted a loyal customer of 100 pizzas per year to someone that will never EVER try this again – it’s garbage. I refuse to eat Dominos after this… makes me sick the lack of judgement from the exec’s that did this. (see Coke/Coke Clasic 1985).

  10. Hannah | on January 22, 2010

I like the old Dominos recipes a lot. I used to order a large pizza every week when I was an undergrad. I haven’t tried the new pizza yet b/c there isn’t a Dominos nearby. But the next time I’m near one I’ll definitely have to try it. Especially since I love garlic.

  11. Dave | on January 23, 2010

Just ordered. First time in more than two years. I’ll Let you know how it goes…

  12. froodian | on January 23, 2010

I’m surprised by all the haters in this thread. I used to order Domino’s occasionally, and it was convenient and fast, but those people in the focus groups were right about the taste. In the last two weeks I’ve ordered Domino’s three times. The new recipe is delicious, and the crust texture is just right. I think it takes a lot of guts for a company to admit that their product just isn’t high enough quality, and do what it takes to fix it. I know it’s probably a shock to people who have the old recipe deeply engrained in their memories, but I guarantee that a year or two from now Domino’s will be much stronger for this change.

    • D’s Nuts | on January 24, 2010

Some people just resist change even if it’s for the better…I just ordered a pie, breadsticks and some buffalo chicken kickers. Let’s see how it goes. You can gauge the quality of pizza by the level of heartburn and post-burping! hahahahaha All you haters need to chill out, it’s only pizza. Learn how to make a pie yourself if you’re so disgusted by commercial pizza.

  13. MrsA | on January 23, 2010

My husband has always hated Domino’s for a lot of the same reasons on the commercial they’ve been running. The only thing he liked was the price. I liked the price and didn’t mind the flavor but it wasn’t my favorite. We tried the new recipe and absolutely loved it! Our location must have better employees because our pizza wasn’t burnt, or dripping with garlic butter or too ‘dusty’. We are officially loyal Domino customers. I think many of the complaints listed here are a due to a lack of consistency on how the employees are preparing the pizza, not the actual issues the company was trying to address like the flavor, texture and quality of toppings.

  14. Pelly’s mom | on January 23, 2010

    Tried your new pizza last night, sorry but was not impressed. Crust is too doughy, not crisp, too much garlic butter & I love both garlic & butter. Sauce I found too “sweet” for lack of a better description, and the box looked like I ordered french fries there was so much grease. Its been a while since I had a Dominos Pizza don’t think I’ll order again. But I do like your wings. : }

  15. lisa patterson | on January 23, 2010

I have to say, I LOVED the new crust with the garlic sauce, I love the Italian spices on the thin crust (as always) – but the pizza, the cheese, fabulous work! I have always enjoyed dominos pizza, but now…i CRAVE dominos pizza!

  16. SBSchillaci | on January 23, 2010

Im not impressed with their campaign..everyone so far who is ‘impressed’ with this so-called ‘honest, pizza changing’ publicity stunt should realize that it took them 50 years- 5-0 years- to get to this point of changing their recipe..before this economic downturn they couldnt have given a rats azz what the public thought of the pizza…honesty/ No, just plain econoimics and again pulling the wool over the publics eyes.

  17. Jean-Karlo Rivera | on January 23, 2010

Honestly, I always liked Domino’s, but one day something strange happened. I ordered some Pizza and when it arrived at the door, I was greeted by an unfamiliar aroma. As soon as I got in the door and cracked open the box, I knew there was something new about the pizza, and it was delicious! The crust was the major improvement. I thought we’d accidentally gotten some sort of premium crust. Then I found out that it was the new standard. Domino’s has made a change for the better.

  18. StevenS757 | on January 23, 2010

I tried the new recipe and loved it. I think anyone who doesn’t like it just doesn’t like change.

  19. Dave | on January 23, 2010

Well… went to pick it up. Cheese and crust looked burnt. They told me it just looks that way; had them make two more a little better. Took them to the birthday party they were intended for and the pizza TOTALLY SUCKED! New sauce isn’t better, crust was dry AND burnt. A two year hiatus from Dominos apparently wasn’t long enough. The pizzas I got (6 of them) looked nothing like the new advertising and the taste was a let down.

    • I Need Dominos Rehab | on January 26, 2010

Dave, you must have a bad store. The pizza is amazing, give it another try elsewheres

    • | on January 27, 2010

bad cooks doesn’t mean that the new pizza sucks it just means the cooks suck

  20. Chris | on January 23, 2010

I was not a fan of the old domino’s. I’ve had one down the block for years and I’ve avoided it! I tried the new “style” of pizza with ‘Fresher” ingredients and what not. I think its an improvement. However, the crust still needs some help. I don’t know if you guys are still using frozen crust or if its honestly hand tossed and made fresh everyday. There is a different taste in quality of the crust between some of the premium pizzeria’s in my area vs you guys. However, I’m a huge fan of the pasta bowls great idea. Keep working at it.

  21. Allyson | on January 23, 2010

AWFUL PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!! I have enjoyed Dominoes Pizza for 24 years and I am so disappointed!!! Why change a good thing??? Awful sauce, crust and cheese…not the same ol’ Dominoes that eveyone knows and loves….major bad decision…you’ve lost a customer…I will now order Pizza Hut or Papa John’s. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

    • Josh | on January 27, 2010

Pizza hut uses frozen crust (for their hand tossed) **Which is clearly not HAND tossed**. Papa johns has good pizza, but this new pizza from dominos is better!!! I have gotten burned out on dominos pizza over the years and found my self at papa johns more often. I always used the cheese and garlic dipping sauce at Papa Johns. But, with the new pizza at dominos, NO dipping sauce required. It is the Perfect combination of sauce, cheese and crust! Theres not a better chain pizza out there!

  22. Ed | on January 23, 2010

All I have to say Yes They Did! The Crust is by far the most improved, you can taste the difference in the sauce… I mean, WOW. I am honestly shocked at how much of a change there is. Way to go Dominos!

  23. alex | on January 23, 2010

u guys are fat souldnt be eatin pizza anyways

  24. Brian | on January 23, 2010

Well this thread goes to show that you cant please everyone. some are saying that they are loosing a long time customer… Well as for me. They are regaining an old customer. I stopped eating Dominos because the crust was to tough and tasted like cardboard. We decided to give the new stuff a chance and it is definatly an improvement. I have my second order in their oven as I type this. For those with burnt crust… Call that location and tell them they should learn how to cook it, our crusts were not burnt. Domino’s thanks for realizing that cardboard does not work as pizza crust.

  25. NASCARbabe24 | on January 23, 2010

The “new taste” pizza is awesome! I’ve had it 3 times now since the change and my 2 kids and I really like it. The crust is soft but crunchy, good butter & garlic taste, the sauce is outstanding, and the cheeses are just out of this world. Domino’s has really outdone themselves this time. Awesome job guys! Keep it up.

  26. Steve | on January 23, 2010

I am amazed when people say there isn’t a difference or only garlic was added. I have been know for years to say “Dominos has the best tasting cardboard around”. Now I’ve had their new pizza. They really did change EVERYTHING from the crust to the sauce & cheese. This new pizza tastes so much better than what I’m used to. Kudos to Dominos for stepping up to create a new, better pizza

  27. Jody | on January 23, 2010

We have several options for pizza to order from, and Dominos was always on the bottom of the list. They had to have a really good deal going for us to order from them because the crust was chewy (not in a good way) and there was never enough cheese. The pizza wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t good either. Bland. We tried the new recipe several weeks ago, and LOVED it! My husband never eats crust from any pizza we order, but he’ll devour it from Dominos. The garlic sauce and their new bread is perfect. We’re regular customers now.

  28. Jordan | on January 23, 2010

I really liked the old stuff. I love the new stuff. I’ve never had a problem with the store or staff in the three years I’ve been ordering from this store. I don’t understand why so many other people are having issues with Dominos. I think it must be the individual store. Maybe try ordering from a different store?

  29. Justin | on January 23, 2010

Great pizza and also a solution to those complaining (I better get some free pizza too!) OFFER BOTH types. For my remarks, I wanted to complain to the manager about the great tasting pizza. I’m just not use to enjoying the crust. Great job.

  30. Mike | on January 23, 2010

Love the new pizza. Keep up the good work.

  31. Steppytoe | on January 23, 2010

Ordered my pizza and it was about a 6 out of 10. Just wasn’t very good, but its edible. Better than the last recipe….I hadn’t had domino’s in years and I think that it will be a while before I order again

  32. Justin | on January 23, 2010

Oh and one more thing. It seems the only next step is Organic ingredients for those tree hugger’s (NOT ME!)

  33. Jim C | on January 23, 2010

Love the new crust, as far as the cheese is concerned i think there was more of it, but not totally sure, the only problem i had was with the sauce, i stopped eating Pizza Hut pizza because of their bad sauce, and always loved Domino’s sauce (even though they had what we used to call in College, Dominos Pizza Bones, that hard chewy part of the crust we could not eat) the new sauce is 2 sweet for me and tastes like pizza hut sauce.

  34. GregInCincy | on January 23, 2010

The new pizza is definitely better than the old stuff. The crust is better (I got the hand-tossed),, and the sauce is more robust (a la Pizza Hut). I think anyone complaining about the new pizza is just someone who simply likes what most of us would consider bad pizza. HOWEVER…. I was a bit put-off about how they appeared to cover the base of the crust with garlic butter first, then the sauce and toppings. It appeared from the commercials that is was just lightly painted around the ends of the crust – but it seems it’s rather a major component of the “flavor”. The garlic butter is the equivalent of the stuff you get from Papa John’s, and I was never a big fan of dipping anything in that, so it doesn’t really improve my experience having it all over the base of my pizza.

I ordered via web, and their website is very cool. You “construct” your pizza and then your order is tracked step-by-step. Speaking of the garlic butter, I wish it was an optional topping to add while building the pizza rather than it being standard.

All in all, the end product seemed like a hybrid of Papa John’s and Pizza Hut. Still, better than the old Domino’s.

  35. R. Andrews | on January 23, 2010

I already emaile a comment. I tired Dominoes on Xmas after years of avoiding it because it was horrible….and I am now your number 1 customer!!!!!! I have thrown Pizza Hut to the wolves…if they will eat it, lol…Thanks for a great pizza….Congratulations!!!

  36. R. Andrews | on January 23, 2010

    forgive the typos!!!

  37. Mrs.P | on January 23, 2010

Now the best pizza you can find anywhere with the changes made. Pizza is much better than Pizza Hut, Papa John’s or elsewhere. Good job listening to your customers, it makes the difference in creating customer loyalty, which we are now loyal and will only order from Dominos

  38. A. Brown | on January 23, 2010

I had quit eating Domino’s so long ago that I had almost forgotten why I didn’t like it. When the new commercials came out, my mother and I reminisced about how the pizza sauce and the crust used to have a strange aftertaste, which, for the crust, was pretty much the only taste it provided. After seeing all the effort you put in, we both tried it again and LOVE it! Now I only order from you guys. Not only was it so great to see a company that actually CARES and wants to provide what its customers want, but you created a fantastic product. Great job, guys! I’m telling everybody!

  39. Joel Hulen | on January 23, 2010

Ordered it tonight. My wife and I have not had Domino’s in over eight years. I must say, we are both converts. The biggest change, and improvement, is the crust. It is thick and doughy, and we both love the garlic butter on it. Sure it’s fattening, but pizza is anyway, right? The sauce is the other large improvement. It did taste like tomato paste before, when it did have any sort of flavor.

It’s still not as good as some of the neighborhood pizza places, but now ranks up there with our other favorite national chains. BTW, the advertisement campaign has been well played in that everyone we know has at least tried Domino’s again, most of whom have been pleasantly surprised. That seems contrary to many comments on this site, but perhaps our Domino’s around here is consistently better than average.

  40. BD yogi | on January 23, 2010

You know everyone has there own taste, some people like to eat garbage and think quality food sucks and others only like quality and will settle for nothing less. I’m not saying that domino’s is now quality food but it is a site better than the previous bland cardboard they used to have.A comment to the person who thinks domino’s employee’s are all stoners, if you liked there old pizza I conclude you yourself are one. I give them credit for trying to improve there product,no matter what the economical benefit the might be hiding.

  41. Kris | on January 23, 2010

Our family tried the new Domino’s which was the first time we had tried Domino’s in years. We live in Chicago where we have a ton of good pizza places. We REALLY LIKE the new Domino’s and we ordering again today (five days after our last Domino’s). The prices are great too!

  42. Kate | on January 23, 2010

I think your ad campaign is fresh and fun – obviously gathering interest and bringing in business. I was never a fan of Dominos. I must say that I did enjoy the sausage pan pizza – not so much the cheese. I found it a bit flavorless. But that is just me. The lava cakes are to die for and your wings are very tasty. You have great prices and make pizza night very tasty and affordable. In this day and age its nice not to have to pay $15 for a pizza and still enjoy the dinner.

  43. Stacy | on January 23, 2010

the new garlic crust is really fantastic. the thin crust is, as well. really happy with the new dominoes!

  44. Claudia | on January 23, 2010

we just ate the new pizza and the garlic sauce was amazing….will for sure be ordering again,

  45. Casey | on January 23, 2010

I never order the pizza much, and never was a huge fan no matter the pizza place, but I do order the bread bowls, which Im having for dinner right now, the chicken parmesan. I think they use the same recipe, and I LOVE it. I really like the wings too, but the sandwhiches need work I think…

  46. a.e | on January 23, 2010

I think pizza is like anything else some are going to like and some are not no matter what they do to it. I just ordered the new pizza and it was a little better than the old one and I may order it again but I was reall big on their buffall wings anyway …. I love the NY style of pizza that you have to fold to keep the cheese on … but i give them credit for trying to improve… besides its a free country and you don’t have to buy Dominos’

  47. HVO | on January 23, 2010

Ok, I just tried the new pizza… BIG difference. The sauce did it for me and the toppings were really of good quality and fresh. Better than Papa John’s which I love. I look at Dominoes a lot differently now.. good job on listening to the public

  48. Brian | on January 23, 2010

Howdy Dominos. I will be honest in saying that I have always loved Dominos since I was a kid. I am 34 now and always told people for years that it was awesome. Well, its been a while since I have had dominos and am excited to try the new recipe.

  49. Steve | on January 23, 2010

I have to say that the new crust is a definite improvement. The old crust tasted like cardboard. This crust actually has some flavor to it. I don’t see what everyone is complaining about. I have found a new liking for Dominos. I used to only order it because it was the only pizza place that delivered to where I live. Now I actually look forward to the pizza. Congrats Dominos, you’ve gained a new loyal customer.

  50. Mario | on January 24, 2010

Great new pizza. Not everyone will like it, I did.

  51. I | on January 24, 2010

What the people in this thread need to understand is that the new Domino’s pizza is actually a HUGE improvement from what it once was, and any problems that you may or may not encounter in buying Domino’s is PURELY the result of quality variations from store to store. Burnt pizza, heavily buttered crust, and even downright bad taste are problems which are caused by individual employee negligence. Domino’s in Guatemala might be horrendous, but I know that in Jersey, where the Domino’s which I frequent is, the pizza is high-quality and delicious. Unfortunately, despite the system of Auditing and Quality Control which corporate Domino’s employs, it is extremely difficult to prevent negligent and careless employees at certain locations from either using expired products, letting pizza burn, or ignoring the requests and specifications of their customers. If you have had a bad experience, I urge you to try ordering from a different store if the opportunity arises.

    • Jason Lindsay | on January 24, 2010

If your idea of “Good Pizza” previously was from Pizza Hut, or Little Caesars, you probably won’t like the new pizza. However, if you’re more of a fan of the handmade pizzas from a locally-owned pizza place, you’ll find the new Dominos to be a HUGE step forward. It really no longer tastes like a formulaic, boring, corporate pizza. Great job, Dominos!

  52. Steve | on January 24, 2010

I’m an Italian from Brooklyn and I know good pizza. I’d always hated Dominos for the same reasons the critics in the video mentioned. I saw the commercial about a month ago on Sunday before the Jets game and decided to give it a try. I can honestly say that I definitely noticed a huge improvement. The cheese, the crust, the sauce all taste like real pizza now. There is just flavor everywhere and I’ve noticed a less greasy pizza too. Its been a tradition since as the Jets haven’t lost since I’ve ordered a pizza before the game. I’m writing this as I wait for the AFC Championship game to start and await the delivery of my pizza.

  53. Aymon | on January 24, 2010

Whenever I went to a party where there would be pizza, and I found out it was Dominos, I was really let down. “Oh, the pizza with a bunch of brown spots on tasteless cheese with a cardboard crust. Great.” Anyways, now it tastes pretty good. I used to abhor and not be able to eat Dominos, and now it tastes pretty good. Honestly, the people who liked Dominoes before they changed must have screwed up tastebuds

  54. bonnie | on January 24, 2010

The comments posted seem to me like the ppl who are complaining have bad service stores. its not the recipe parsay but the ppl making the pizzas my husband used to work at one of the 3 local stores here we prefer one store over the others due to the quailty of employees and there ablity to fallow the set guide lines .so try a diffrent store in your area if u can i happen to love the new pizza if somethings wrong call them and let them know. its how they are able to figure out where there problems in each store lay is if u complain. the head of the stores will look at who was on who made the order ect and if its consistant that person will b let go

  55. Katrina | on January 24, 2010

  56. Jerry | on January 24, 2010

We just finished the Pizza. Man! that was GOOD!

  58. Natasha | on January 24, 2010

I really like the new recipe!! yay I was hoping that it wouldn’t just be made of hype but there’s a lot more favors in the pizza and the crust is just how i like it! soft and light and not over cooked! The sauce also has a variety of favors. The pizza is really improved. I’d have to say that any of the “long-time” costumers that dislike the change are people that can’t cope with change and i think what you’ve done is for the improvement of your company and not just to appease 1 or 2 people. Even if you’re losing long time costumers who are to blind to the reasons behind the changes i think you’ll gain more in the new costumers that’ll love and endorse your pizza! I know i’ll be raving about it to my friends and family!

  59. I | on January 24, 2010

God Awful sums it up. This is worse than the New Coke debacle. My kids use to love Domino’s. I brought home the new pizza, not realizing that they had changed their ingredients and my 3 kids all spat it out. There is your testimonial right there. I have to believe that most of their consumers are families and if the kids won’t eat it, there goes sales. Time to short the stock until the CEO is replaced.

  63. RW | on January 24, 2010

OK, I have no axe to grind. Don’t know how much these comments are worth because you’re never sure who is writing them … marketing people for Pizza Hut, Domino’s, competition etc? For what it’s worth, I’m just a run-of the-mill customer. I don’t work for any pizza conglomerate, I’m just a consumer like most. IMHO, the new recipe is great! I really like the changes to the pizza.

  68. Jim | on January 24, 2010

Domino’s needs to take a lesson from Old Chicago. Crust should be light, crispy and flaky, sauce should tastes like fresh tomatoes, cheese should be 100 percent real, and meats/toppings should be first-rate (meaning high quality and generously applied).

Order an Old Chicago pizza sometime, and tell me that it isn’t the best. I recommend marinated chicken and bacon on Chicago-style crust.

i have a real issue with this satisfaction guaranteed policy they advertise. obviously they dont want to stand behind it. i paid for two pizzas neither of which had the garlic butter crust and both tasted like cardboard. i have written to corporate several times about this problem only to be ignored. i dont know why they advertise this if they dont want to stand behind it.

    • gsb | on January 30, 2010

Did you actually call the store from which you ordered your pizza, rather than writing to corporate? The store is who will refund your money.

  79. Christian | on January 25, 2010

these dudes came in white chef suits…OMG… In the Bronx NY i get better tasting pizza, but its still cold as ice cubes by the time it arrives… and the delivery men have on dirty super mario jumpsuits its terrible learn how to iron clothes

  80. Debbie | on January 25, 2010

Debbie- I ordered your special with the 2 medium pizzas and loved it! The sauce is great and tasty. The crust is flavorful and crispy. Keep up the good work!

  81. Charles | on January 25, 2010

I travel for a living. Dominos has always been a place that I could order my dinner from that I trusted in and knew the food was going to be good. However, the new pizza realy sucks. I don’t want all that garlic butter on my pizza. I don’t want to go visit my customers the next day with smelly breath. I’m sorry, but I want the old pizza back. You guys are losing my business until it returns.

    • gsb | on January 30, 2010

Simple solution: when you order, ask them NOT to put the garlic butter on the crust.

  82. brian | on January 25, 2010

It seems to taste good but, every order I have got the middle is wet and I have not had one with a crust that has a crunch or if it did. somewhere it is getting oily and wet. Fix the problem and it will be good but, if you dont fix go back. I have not ordered much because of this problem with the Greenfield,ma Dominos store. I ordered one tonight hoping that they fixed the problem. so, I will see. I get the deep dish. tonight I ordered the hand tossed.

  83. PatJ | on January 25, 2010

I agree with the gentleman about inconsistency. I too travel a lot in the oil business and have eaten all over the country only to final find the best Dominos at:
    Domino’s Store (4883): 213 N Main Street, Old Forge, PA 18518 Across from Turkey Hill. | 570-457-4200
They are nothing but consistent and haven’t fouled up an order yet, I think I’ve order at least 10 times in the last 3 months. Other Dominos stores should model there stores after the likes of this one.
Now on the subject of the new Pizza. It’s a no go for me. Hate it. Like some other had suggested, give us a choice between new and old.
    Store 4883, you rock.
    Pat

  84. Jason | on January 25, 2010

YUCK!!! the new pizza is horrid. there was so much garlic my son would not even taste it and I can’t brush it out of my mouth. Dough was also gummy and the new sauce has a bitter unpleasant aftertaste. I predict we will soon see domino’s as one of the companies that is going out of business. this leads me back to this statement if you want truly good pizza then always remember better ingredients mean better pizza Papa Johns.

  85. Nathan | on January 25, 2010

i love the new style. My family and I eat the bread bowels more than the pizza and the new crust has helped them taste superb. ON occasion we do get a pizza and i have found that there is so much garlic butter on them that the bread becomes soggy. the bowels have more bread though so they don’t seem as saturated. Keep up the good work guys. you are the only pizza we order at our house and we can get them all.

  86. merissa | on January 25, 2010

My family and I used to always go with pizza hut we didn’t like domino’s too much but that new pizza recipe is sooo delicious it blows pizza hut away! we love the new garlic crust and the sauce with a hint of red pepper is my favorite, it’s the best, we only order domino’s now.

  87. caroline | on January 25, 2010

i love dominos pizza its great i just ate it and its fantastic its like the best pizza ever made and i so agree withmerissa it blows pizza hut away with the wind and lands dominos on its place its awesome and they really improved now every time its time for pizza its definetly dominos

  88. Jeremy C Hansen | on January 25, 2010

People never like change… this is why many are complaining on this board. I for one hated the old recipe and almost never bought from domino’s. I mean, I’m in New York City, there’s a pizza place every block! I recently purchased a pizza through the online ordering system and it changed my opinion 180 degrees. The new pizza has fresh ingredients and it’s own unique taste to it, it’s actually good! Although I will say that the American legends pizza is by far superior to any other they offer.

  89. New Dominoes Recipe Lover! | on January 25, 2010

Okay whoever said the new pizza sucked is so so so WRONG! I read all of the comments and still bought the pizza and it was absolutly amazing! Dont listen to all the negitive comments! The pizza is incredable! No matter how harsh the comments say. Try for yourself. And if you dont like it, they give you all your money back! What do you have to lose? An awsome pizza?(:

  90. The Dominoes Lover Agreer! | on January 25, 2010

The guy above is soooooo right! He described it so good. Dominoes that guy rocks! So does your pizza!

  91. BC | on January 25, 2010

Ordered four pizzas ONLINE in Ridgeland, MS to feed the family. Estimated tine was 24-40 min at 6:07p. Got a call at 7:10. Guy said he was from the Madison, MS store and that they did not deliver to my address; that there was a different store that did and I could call them. I even took the time to put delivery instructions on the order! Extremely disappointing on SO many levels for just as many obvious reasons. Looks like Papa Johns wins again.

  92. Mike | on January 25, 2010

Here is the thing. Even in chains , not all pizza is created equal. I have gotten the best pizza ever delivered, and the worst ever, from the same location, in the same week. Even a change in shifts can mean from a 10.0 to a 1.0. The trick is to order online. watch who it says makes the pizza. take note each time. you get to know when to, and when not to order pizza. I go as far as calling and canceling if I see the wrong person’s name.

  93. PM | on January 26, 2010

Tried it. Hated it. Didn’t like the garlic, what if I don’t want garlic on my pizza crust. Sauce is still burning my mouth (yes I am a spice wimp), point is these should be options, not the norm. always liked Dominos, won’t order again!

    • Austin | on January 26, 2010

Ummmm… those ARE options. If your idea of a “Spice” is salt, then order the hearty marinara sauce, which tastes about as bland as you can hope for.

If you don’t want the garlic butter on the crust, ask them not to put garlic butter on the crust.

      This ain’t rocket science…

  94. Mateo | on January 26, 2010

By reading all of the comments here, i can tell that the problem is not the domino’s recipe, the problem are the employees trying to cook those delicious pizzas. They arrive burnt and with a lot of “Seeds”- as everyone says- on the bread. The recipe is perfect, but the guys/gals trying to cook it suck so bad. I still love Dominos but you might have to think about changing employees.

Come on people, it is impossible to make a product taste the same in every country. Not even coca-cola has achieved that, there are a lot of factors that count against that dream (Temperature, Altitude and even Culture!) so don’t cry on that one.

  95. brendon | on January 26, 2010

ok i don’t know why every one is saying this is worse than the old style the old style wasn’t cutting it it was lower quailty current lists of pizza chains papajhons expensive… dominos pizza hut then………………….. little cezars now thats crust like cardboard thats been cooked for an hour in 600 degree heat. and the new pizza is pretty good almost as good as papajhons for 2/3 the price

  96. brendon | on January 26, 2010

and i can’t even taste the red spice in the sauce so if you can say its burning you have some issues and its not the pizza fault

  97. Victoria | on January 26, 2010

I’ve never thought Domino’s was that bad!
But I do know now it’s better. I appreciate that it’s never to greasy/oily, and I do agree that sometimes it has to do with the specific Domino’s you are ordering from. My pizza has always been ordered from the Domino’s down the road in CT, and honestly, it’s terrific. The crust now is just… amazing. Like a mild version of their breadsticks, without the grease/oil. The driver was very nice. Very delish. Love the original crust.

  98. Caitlin Fruzzetti-Fish | on January 26, 2010

Ive always enjoyed Dominos and about a month before they changed the recipie my 4 roomates and i would order from our local dominos at least twice a week and since theyve changed it we rarely order anymore i too wish we could have the option of having the old recipie because the garlic is just too much. I still will only order from dominos because they are still my #1 choice in pizza but i definetly miss the old pizza.

  99. Ggirl | on January 26, 2010

Wow, there isn’t that much of a difference to get all fired up about! I applaud their efforts, but I don’t see much to complain or compliment about with any of the pizza delivery chains.

  100. Donna | on January 26, 2010

I have not ordered Domino’s yet..but I always liked the old pizza..it has always been my favorite..have to say I hand it to you to listen to your customer’s and try to improve.

  101. John in Titusville Florida | on January 26, 2010

How about a nutritional value for each meal so us that are on a special diet can figure out whether which sandwich or pizza can fit in with our diet.

  102. Skip | on January 26, 2010

I hadn’t ordered Domino’s in, well, I don’t know how long. At least 3 years though. In fact the last time I truly remember ordering Domino’s was for a party I hosted in 1998 and I only remember because I ordered 20 pizzas.

Then, about a week ago my wife and I worked up the courage to try the “new” Domino’s pizza – ordered two medium pizzas with different toppings so we could get the full effect… and low and behold, it was AWESOME! In fact, it was so good we’re ordering again tonight.

Is it time to reintroduce the Noid in Domino’s commercials? Please?

  103. Kdub | on January 26, 2010

The new recipe is fine but nothing fabulous. I’ll miss the old pizza so much. I’ve always been a fan of the old one. Bummed. I probably will not be inclined to order it again.

  104. Sdeev | on January 26, 2010

i have always eaten dominos and always will.

  105. Jonathan | on January 26, 2010

It’s a better pizza. Trust me….all you haters just don’t know good pizza. There proof is that you liked it before.

  106. Ex-New-Yawka | on January 26, 2010

We tried the new pizza and still undecided as to if we like it better or not. It certainly is different. Grandma, though, can’t handle the “zesty” sauce and “too much” garlic.

If Domino’s — or anybody — could figure out how to make the crust taste like real New York pizza dough, they’d have a lifetime fan in me. In the meantime, it’s just pizza-like, no matter how much they jazz it up.

  107. Tony | on January 26, 2010

Score! I am a fan of the new Domino’s Pizza. Savory, buttery crust, robust flavorful sauce with just a kick of spice and glorious wonderful cheese that tasted so fresh and delicious.

You can’t please all the people all the time, and maybe there is inconsistency from location to location. The one here in Little Rock has their game together and consistently deliver wonder products.

This is a win in my book.

  108. Guy | on January 26, 2010

Well I never really had a problem with the old Dominos. However my girlfriend and her daughter hated it! After trying the new recipe they both love it! I think they might have gone a little overboard with the garlic sauce on the one I tried, but it may have just been the local place here’s fault. Other than that it tastes good.

  109. Bobby Johnson | on January 26, 2010

On Janurary 26 2010 in Maritnez Ga. on blair road, about 615pm i ordered 4 pizza’s at 5.99 each includes 2 medium pizza’s and 2 topping but I was informed I was wrong by the manager and then I called the Area supervisor (Jay) and He told me I need to learn to read the sign it said each pizza it doe’s not it read just 5.99 each so should be each set????? Would love to contacted?

    • Austin | on January 26, 2010

Since when does the word “each” denote that it’s for two? $5.99 each, means $5.99 each. That means EACH PIZZA costs $5.99. Try not to be such a retard…

  110. Amiee-Marie | on January 26, 2010

    BEST PIZZA EVER! :D

  111. Mazdaspeed | on January 26, 2010

Ordered 2 pizzas, one Philly and one thin crust with 4 toppings. The pizzas were just good, not great. The problem on the thin crust was that toppings were lacking, taste was good. The Philly tasted generally good, but had no sauce. The hand-tossed crust on it was good, defintely was different than before. I like the tomato sauce, but the spices may turn many American’s away. For a family, all it will take is one member of the family to say how spicy the sauce is and they will order from the other competitors. The point is that this is a risky move. Generally is an improvement over the past that had a non-discript taste.

  112. Claudia | on January 26, 2010

The new Dominos pizza is great! The old kind gave both me and my cousin heartburn, but this new kind has a really yummy crust (not the kind you throw in the garbage after eating the main part) and really good sauce! My cousin has gone back on her oath to never eat Dominos again and we just ordered some for a party tonight!!!

  113. Erica | on January 26, 2010

I ordered from Dominos last week after over 10 years of refusing to eat their pizza. I was suprised at how great it was. The customer service was top notch. It is definitely where we’ll be ordering from in the future. Thanks Dominos!!

  114. Jeff Fox | on January 26, 2010

The old pizza was good. The new one is GREAT

  115. AznPie | on January 26, 2010

I wondered how much they paid em to say that O.o??…Like OMG..this is Fantastic!!

  116. Austin | on January 26, 2010

Domino’s has always been my “Bottom of the barrel” last resort; just above a Little Caesars Hot N’ Ready. The commercials inspired me to try it out, about a week ago, and aside from the pizza not being ready when we when to pick it up, and having to wait an extra 25 min AFTER they said it would be ready, I really enjoyed it.

Tonight, I just had two more delivered. Domino’s is now my new pizza of choice.

I think the negative comments here, are mostly trailer trash folk who grew up on the old garbage Domino’s, and haven’t ever experienced a quality pizza before.

The old stuff was trash. Plain and simple. The new stuff qualifies as food. Still, not a Round Table, but on Twofer Tuesday, these things cost like 1/4th of the cost of a Round Table, and for a budget pizza, easily better than Pizza Hut, or any of the other local alternatives…

  117. Joshua M | on January 26, 2010

This is all well and good. Is this new recipe finding it’s way internationally? How about listening to your customers in other countries. I come from Malaysia & just checked your Malaysian website and founding no info on the new recipe.

  118. Tabias | on January 26, 2010

The new pizza is a huge improvement. For the longest time whenever I ordered from Domino’s, whether with a friend or family, I only would order the buffalo wings because I couldn’t stand the taste of the pizza. I love the new Domino’s pizza, since I’ve had it I haven’t ordered from another company.

  119. Rae in Seattle | on January 26, 2010

The new crust is great, like the sauce as well… am still disappointed in the toppings, They are good just not really much on the pie… have to order extra everything so its not a round crust with sauce and a light sprinkling of cheese and a few pepperoni or what not on there.

  120. DH Fresno | on January 26, 2010

I abandoned Dominos over 15 years ago. I tried the new pizza based on the commercial and the economic factor. The pizza is better than the old by far. Still no where near the best, but you definately cant go wrong if you are on a budget.

  121. opera 41 | on January 26, 2010

  122. I Need Dominos Rehab | on January 26, 2010

Like OMG. I can’t get enough of the new Dominos pizza! I hated their last recipe and had to deal with Pizza Fut for years..blah! I have ordered 4 times from them since the new launch and I cant get enough! So tonight, i decided to try the Pasta bowl thingy, and gues what? It was the shiz!! It was double the size I “thought” it would be and the crust, oh man, the crust! Its so buttery and garlicy and fluffy..man!

Anywho, sorry for the rant but I just ate about 20 minutes ago and topped it off with a chocolate lava dessert and im on a natural sugar high :) man that was goood…..’

    Thanks Dominos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  123. J. Lussier | on January 26, 2010

I liked the marketing tactic with the new commercials etc so I tried Domino’s again after 5 + years of not ordering it. I will say the original crust was much better and the overall quality was better. I will order again…keep up the good work and don’t stop the improvements!

  126. ZRAB | on January 27, 2010

well, soo i think that the pizza is much much much better then the old pizza. the garlic crust makes it taste like it is a chain pizza. the sauce is spicier, but not at all spicy to drive me away.

I hate Dominos Pizza. I just go there because the chefs are hot and sexy.

  131. Mel Daura | on January 27, 2010

Tried your new pizza. Hot impressed. I’ve been a dominos customer close to 20 years, but was very dissapointed in the change.

  132. The Blevins | on January 27, 2010

Domino’s has always been my husband and I’s number 1 choice for the following reasons. First Papa Johns pizza makes me very sick. Not sure why but other people I know say it makes them sick to their stomach too. Second Pizza Hut can be very greasy so I only have gotten it really in the past if I wanted deep dish. Third I like the toppings you guys have always offered your roasted red peppers are just delish. Our local Dominos closed for about a week, we believe the entire staff quit so they had to shut down and we about freaked, we order 1-2 times a week. We don’t like to cook can you tell hehe. Once they reopened we tried the new pizza, I tried the deep dish and I have to say its way better. I hated your deep dish before but I love it now. No more Pizza Hut for me. My husband loves the new sauce and enjoyed his thin crust also. We did not have burnt issues so I do believe that is a store issue. I also have one last note to say. Please don’t ever get rid of your bread bowls and sandwiches. For my husband and I who work 13 hr shifts having the option to go straight home and have numerous chooses to order in is great, since we live in an area that does not have chinese or any other type of delivery. Thanks very much hope my comments help other.

  133. mj71 | on January 27, 2010

I decided to see if the pizza was really better…. I like the sauce, hate the cheese (still tastes cheap) and thought the crust was fine but nothing special. I don’t think the pizza is worth $20 after delivery charges and a tip. There’s better places to get dinner for less.

  134. Catherine | on January 27, 2010

I like this pizza so much better!!!! :) :)

  135. David | on January 27, 2010

I always loved the sauce on the “old” pizza. The crust was not always consistent, but it was still my favorite of the major chains. The kids and my wife really like the new sauce, I on the other hand do not. We ordered again tonight and I am having 1 pizza with the Hearty Marinara, hopefully it is much closer to the original.

  136. jska | on January 27, 2010

My delivery expirience was horrible, i wil never buy again.

  137. Ryan | on January 28, 2010

Ordered a pizza last week and it was fantastic, the perfect amount of everything. I was craving the same taste today and order a pizza despite of being on a diet. But to my dismay the pizza was burnt and the crust was the old card board crust. Never ordering dominos again.

    • Jamie Phillips | on January 28, 2010

why is it when people get a product that is unsatisfactory – they don’t complain right away – so it can be corrected..? Generation “C” ‘ers – you have issues. I am a baby boomer- if its NOT what I ordered and Paid for ~ I look for resolution…And I always get it …

      • Pixie | on January 28, 2010

Right on! If it was the same old cardboard crust, complain! Someone messed up! The only reason Domino’s made new awesome pizza is because people complained! You can’t fix what you don’t know is broken……

  138. Judd | on January 28, 2010

Does the term “New Coke” mean anything to you boys.

    • Jamie Phillips | on January 28, 2010

    • Stevie | on January 29, 2010

You Are Exactly Right Judd. They Should Have Known! This Will Be The Second Example With Same Result! Old Was Better!!

  139. Stephanie | on January 28, 2010

A few girls ordered some of the new Domino’s pizza for a social event. Three boxes were empy just minutes after they were opened (and there weren’t that many people). I think we all liked the new changes. Personally, I’m a HUGE Pappa John’s fan. The only other place I have been to and enjoyed is Mellow Mushroom. The new recipe, however, has now put Domino’s in the second spot (under Pappa John’s). The sauce, the crust, and the cheese is so much better than what they were before. None of the pizzas were burned.

Now I just hope the Domino’s around here can be consistent and put effort into making their products. This is the first time I have EVER craved Domino’s. All you guys need is to allow me to order pineapples and jalapeno pizza and you’ll have a loyal customer.

  140. R. Anderson | on January 28, 2010

I tried the new pizza for the frist time…amazing! It took me by surprise on how good it was. I never liked Domino’s all that much, but the new pizza is fantastic. I will be ordering more often.

  141. lisa dotter | on January 28, 2010

I have to say that they are the best in my area! They are they quickest to get to my house out of all the pizza or any food place! And the best pizza over all!

  142. Mekatra | on January 28, 2010

Living in the dorms without a car puts me in a really tight spot, especially since the closest dining areas aren’t open during weekends. When it comes to late night study sessions or times when three or four of us are just plain starving we of course being the typical teens would turn to pizza. We crossed Dominos off our list early on because of the lack of taste and the cheap quality for what we were paying. Now I love Dominos because it’s in that beautiful place where affordable meets edible. I love the new pizza and so do most of my dorm mates.

  143. Brian Cello | on January 28, 2010

Bottom line NOT a value for the money.

  144. Megan | on January 28, 2010

More often than not, we ordered Domino’s because it is so convenient to order only, definitely not for taste. I didn’t know they had changed their recipe so when I took a bite I was shocked. I have never enjoyed pizza crust, I’m that person you would see with the crust left on the plate. Not anymore. I love the crust!! The difference is night and day. Domino’s now has the whole package!

  145. Me | on January 28, 2010

Hey Dominos .. IF I’m going to be a repeat customer, could you do us a favor in your online ordering process? Your competitor .. let’s call it the “Shed” .. has a convenient way to click a button and repeat the same exact same order as the last time or three. Including the coupon used, if it’s still valid. As I usually order the same thing each time, this would save me a lot of time, and I would not dread the process of ten minutes of re-ordering the same thing each time!

    • Jamie Phillips | on January 28, 2010

they already have that option- at least it was on my screen ??????

    • Pixie | on January 28, 2010

Look at your screen when confirming your order; you will see a very large window asking if you want to name and save your current order, including coupon, for future use. It is not hidden, it is very obvious if you read the screen to check your order.

I used to hate Domino’s Pizza. Cardboard crust, fake tasting cheese, flavorless sauce. But, WOW, the new pizza is AWESOME! Ours came looking just like they do on TV and in this video clip. Crust was nice and soft, like homemade, good flavor, nice texture, not doughy or burnt. LOVE the garlic seasoning on the edge! The sauce was very well seasoned and savory, you can actually taste the herbs and seasonings. Good consistency, not too thick or watery. The cheese was real cheese, and plenty of it; there was not any sauce peeking through, and it stretched properly like mozzarella should. All of the toppings were very good also, we had pepperoni, sausage, ham and pineapple. This is our new favorite pizza, better than Pizza Hut and Papa John’s for sure!!! Please keep this deal up for a while, we will be ordering LOTS of pizzas for parties in the near future! Good job Domino’s, THANK YOU for listening!

  153. R Erb | on January 29, 2010

Had it two nights ago. Oh no you di’n't!!!!! The pizza tasted exactly the same as before. C’mm’n Mang! And the wings – we had one bite and tossed them in the garbage. Canandaigua, NY

  154. rjj | on January 29, 2010

It looks like the character of “the real Claudia” is played by Natalie Morales from the show The Middleman. Wouldn’t that make this a fraud??

  155. Julie K. | on January 29, 2010

I have absolutely no complaints. I just love this new pizza. What could be better than Papa John quality at half the price? Our Everett, Washington store is great. They still deliver in 25-30 minutes, and the taste is out of this world. As I don’t do well with gluten, this has become real hard for me! Good job Dominoes – and good job on opening up instant feedback and to listening to customers… unfortunately some people seem to love to complain, but I know that I’ve had pizza now 3x in 6 weeks. It’s my go-to thing right now when I want to treat myself. Thanks for a great product and a decent deal. I also LOVE THE interactive Pizza confirmation system. It even tells you who actually prepared your pizza, who baked it, and who delivered it if you don’t feel the pizza you got was right. All 6 of ours have been great.

    I love my dominoes

  157. James R | on January 29, 2010

A few weeks ago I ordered Dominos and when the delivery driver came, I was asleep and no one answered the door. I woke up to a voicemail on my phone and returned the call to the driver who said he had taken the pizza back to the store. Needless to say, I was very angry and frustrated about the situation. I drove up to the local Dominos expecting to be handed two cold pizzas. When I got there, the cashier told me they were remaking my pizzas. Score 1 for Dominos, everyone wants their pizza fresh and hot. Then after a few minutes the area GM herself brought them out to me, along with my original pizzas, which were actually still pretty hot. Score 2 for Dominos. Then when I got home we all opened them up and had a great meal. They were delicious! Big score for Dominos on quality AND customer service!

What are you going to do the next time you order a pizza, take a flight to Hawaii and still expect the delivery guy to stand at your doorstep and wait forever for you?

Here’s a tip, when you order a pizza don’t go off and do something else. If other people are in the house with you alert them that a pizza is coming and that they need to listen for the doorbell. It’s not the pizza places fault.

    • Rob | on February 5, 2010

Needless to say, you were very angry and frustrated because you didn’t answer the door and they took the pizzas back to the store????? You are ridiculous, and should have been handed two cold pizzas and felt like the idot you are, not rewarded for being a moron.

  158. R.Mathis | on January 29, 2010

I actually enjoyed the old pizza because it was a distinctive taste to it. You knew it was Dominoes. But the new crust and recipe is not bad either, they did themselves justice. I will continue to be a customer.

  159. Jo-Ann Carroll | on January 29, 2010

I am eating the so called new pizza now and it sucks. There is still hardly no cheese and it does look nearlly as tasty as the advertisement. I might as well set my $20 on fire.

  160. Steve Ogburn | on January 29, 2010

I’m fortunate that my local Dominos has the new recipes. The new pizzas taste great so I’m switching back after a few years of not buying Dominos pizzas. Thanks for the improvements! I agree with others on here who call for all shops to get up to speed with the new recipes.

  161. Rich P | on January 29, 2010

Love Garlic, Love Butter, Love good crust. Let’s hope it is all they say. I am actualy leaving this window open until after I feast. :)

  165. Jon | on January 29, 2010

Awesome Pizza Domino’s people. I’ve always hated your pizza and much preferred Papa J’s. Haven’t ordered Papa J’s in a while. Love the online ordering.

  169. Stevie | on January 29, 2010

I really DO NOT like the NEW pizza. Please make it an option to order then new. I have been a weekly customer for years until the NEW pizza arrive. It’s horrible.

  171. Pauly pockets | on January 29, 2010

I can’t believe how horrible these pizza’s are. Way to go domino’s. Going back to jacks frozen pizza’s they taste fresher.

  172. Mike | on January 29, 2010

well i just tryed the new pizza i have not one complaint i love the crust o really like the sauce dont go back to old lol only thing bad about anything would be the cost of sides some good some to much if u want a lil bit bigger size {wings} to much come on wings shouldnt be so expensive there everywhere ……. but the tast for the bbq is so great ill pay the price any way go domino’s u doing great

  173. Eric Gonzalez | on January 29, 2010

I haven’t been a Fan of Domino’s Pizza for a while…but then again I guess I would call myself a Pizza Snob and prefer Wood Fired Pizza with traditional Italian ingredients or California Style Pizza…My roommate ordered some Domino’s a few nights ago from you Guys…I tried a slice and I have to say I was really impressed.. The Crust is awesome and the Sauce wayyyyy Better. In fact i just ordered a Pizza this evening from you guys … I was that impressed!
I will always think that a Great Woodfired Pizza from an independent restaurant will be my preference///however when in a rush and in the mood…I will definately pick Domino’s.

  174. Justin | on January 29, 2010

I like to eat pizzas for dinner and sometimes snack time. Thanks go to a new pizza for its delicious urethra taste. Many thanks for chef understanding why urethra is so important. I LOVE DOMINOES URETHRA TASTING PIZZAS!

  175. Saphira | on January 30, 2010

I actually think i like the old one better. maybe its because im 11 and dont really care.

  176. Ross | on January 30, 2010

I live in South Tampa, and I’ve got to say, the new Dominos pizza is a vast improvement over what they’ve been serving the last couple of decades, and if I were to order from any of the major chains I would definitely order from Dominos from now on.

  177. Jackie Kelly | on January 30, 2010

My husband used to order Domino’s and I would order from a different chain. He kept trying to convince me of how good your new pizza was but I told him I had it in the past and did not like it for some reason. I then saw your commercial on TV with your chefs talking about the “New” Domino’s and was intrigued. So the next time we ordered pizza I said what the heck I’ll try it this time and see…I WAS EXTREMELY HAPPY! Finally I had found a pizza I reallly enjoyed. It tasted fresh and had a ton of cheese on it. It was hot and crisp. John at the store even called us to varify our order! We have a one year old daughter who will always know the new taste and I am quite sure she will love this pizza for life! We appreciated the commercial so much we were compelled to write and say great job to everyone at Domino’s!

  178. lowveens jacques | on January 30, 2010

lol this is so funny but dominoes need to get deals on just the cheesey bread its like crack im addicted some sort of coupon for 3 cheesey breads

  179. Rex Benson | on January 30, 2010

this is a great marketing campaign. It truly is a much better pizza. Its a no brainer!

  180. jeremy | on January 30, 2010

Yeah, the new pizza tastes just like the old pizza. The only difference is the garlic salted on the crust. If you are going to reinvent a pizza, please try to at least make it edible.

  181. Loraine Hill | on January 30, 2010

Although my husband still eats Dominos wings and pizza, I will not eat it since I don’t eat white flour (no white bread, pizza crust nor pasta). HUGE mistake to stop selling the wheat crust in my area (South Tampa, Florida).

  182. zoey | on January 30, 2010

Loved the pizza in des moines, iowa. It’s a great recipe…much better than the cardboard-and-ketchup “recipe” they had before. good job!

  183. Steven | on January 30, 2010

I enjoy discussing pizza with others.

    • mitchel | on January 30, 2010

for this purpose it was wise of you to choose the dominos pizza internet forum.

      • Mike J. | on January 30, 2010

i recommend starting at the top and skimming down the list. by the time you get to the bottom of the list i believe that you will be please with the pizza related conversation.

  184. Lee | on January 30, 2010

    Okay,
I’m a huge pizza fun but it’s been about fifeteen years since I had Domino’s pizza since I considered it to be crap. I just ordered one now that they claimed it is so much better and will let you know what I think after it gets here. I really hope it’s great, but honestly I’m not expecting much.

  185. eddie | on January 30, 2010

I ordered the new pizzas about an hour ago, and i just got done eating them….My analysis: AWESOME….the new pizza is way better than the old one…the only suggestion i would have is not to make the crust so dry, it leaves a powdery taste in my mouth…….but again, loved the new pizza. Great job!

  186. Eric Post | on January 30, 2010

Ordered Large(14″) Thin ExtravaganZZa Feast- Extra Cheese, New Robust Tomato Sauce, Pepperoni, Italian Sausage, Green Peppers, Black Olives, Mushrooms, Onions, Beef, Ham about 3 weeks ago…My Wife and I agreed that it was MUCH better than before…great flavor. We were very satisfied and just placed a order 2nite for the same pizza. Hoping its as good as last time or the chance of “inconsistency” will drive us back to Knights of the “XXXnd XXXbl” pizza joint that we normally enjoy.

  187. MYSTI | on January 30, 2010

I tried the pizza when you said it was new…..it was very good…had again and it was just OK that time…tried again and we had company….it was not edible….WHAT IS IT? YOU ONLY MAKE THE GOOD ONES FOR THE FIRST DELIVER AND THE HECK WITH THOSE AFTER…IT WAS AWFUL…THREW IT OUT, WON’T BE BUYING AGAIN….

  188. Elvis of NY | on January 30, 2010

I am a life long Dominos Pizza customer. Having said that, I ordered your new pizza today……. Great Job! delicious !!!!

  189. jazzie | on January 30, 2010

butter???? garlic???? i taste none of that!!!! i’m disappointed in that, but the crust is better in general. really it seems like the same ‘ol pizza that they had before. i’ll stick with my deep dish chain!

  190. MikeV (the MikeV) | on January 31, 2010

OK – Listen up people – My 15 year old son & I order Dominos nearly every Tuesday to get the buy 1 get 1 deal. It’s kind of a bonding thing + we enjoy chowing down late at night while watching a movie together. Sometimes, it’s just about the pizza or occasional Buffalo Wings. Anyway, tonight, we ordered and tasted the New Dominos. There was a distinct New Taste about it and We Both Thoroughly Enjoyed it Better! The Crust, in particular, was better! Thanks Dominos!

And, believe me, we like our Pizzaria Pizza, but they don’t deliver at all hours of the night.

Actually, they don’t deliver at all!

  191. Mike | on January 31, 2010

The crust has too much spice on it. If Domino’s would learn how to make a “White” aka Greek Pizza than just maybe I recommend it. Sorry to say its too GREASY and this most likely was my last pizza from Domino’s as there also are too many spices in the sauce.
Sorry but gotta say this no more email ads or snail mail.

    ****Awesome Pizza Experience****
So I ordered a medium 3 topping a little bit ago (hand tossed, new sauce, pineapple, jalapeños, half green peppers & half red peppers). =D It was baked just right and mmm the crust and the sauce and the cheese – everything was just to love.
I never really ever give reviews on things but I came across this and I saw some negative reviews so I just wanted to share my positive experience. I honestly believe it depends on the area where you live, because at my aunt’s in Bergen County, NJ – Pizza Hut is way better than Dominos there. And when I lived in Pearl Harbor, HI (military), Pizza Hut was boss there too. By the way, I’m in Jackson Heights, NYC.
I had actually decided not to order pizza from chains again in this area because I had tried both Dominos and Pizza Hut last year when I had first moved to this neighborhood and they both sucked. (Papa Johns was never an option for me because it has always sucked everywhere I’ve ever tried it.. ugh.
So I’ve been hearing about this new recipe and decided to give it a try and I’m glad I did. I loved it.
A tip: try having the sauce light (not a lighter version but just less sauce), some people like it that way.

Sorry for any spelling or grammatical errors, I didn’t go back and check and I typed really fast. lolz

We order 2 medium hand-tossed pizzas (2 toppings) last week and the pizza was much much better than before. When my boyfriend told me that he was ordering Dominos b/c of their special, my comment was “I would prefer to spend more for edible pizza.” He then updated me on the “New” Dominos recipe ad, so I took the bate. When the pizza arrived it was actually pretty freakin good… however the only thing that i could say that was negative, and this is probably just the local Dominos fault, is that there were barely any toppings. The taste, the flavor and service was great… just needed more toppings!!!

  197. Chuck U Farley | on January 31, 2010

Domino’s tasted fine after a 12 pack of Bud when I was in college. As a adult, I haven’t ordered from them in 15 years. The new commercials were enough for my family to give them a try again (we’ve been strictly Pizza Hut for at least a decade), and I just now placed our 2nd order in two weeks. It doesn’t knock my socks off, but the price is right, and for a family of 6 what can you expect for $25? It is absolutely far far superior than the crap I ate 15 years ago.

  198. Roxy D | on January 31, 2010

I love the new Dominos pizza! We order it all the time now! Thank You!

  199. Brad | on January 31, 2010

yall want awesome service and perfect pizza pie. got to the paris illinois Dominos. They are freakin awesome!!!

  200. David Lepore | on January 31, 2010

The new pizza sauce is terrible. I love the way the pizza looks, but after one bite the sauce killed it. You guys really need to carry different sauces, as I like the old one better.

  201. Kim | on January 31, 2010

I just tried the new pizza, and I honestly didn’t know what the difference was until I ate the crust. It’s soft, buttery, and very garlicy…and I always leave the crust uneaten. Thanks Dominos!

  202. Paula | on January 31, 2010

I never liked Dominos Pizza before but it’s way better now and beats our local Pizza Hut. Still is under cooked from time to time.

  203. jena | on January 31, 2010

domino’s is better than pizza hut.

  204. dan | on January 31, 2010

Domino’s is a crock, The pizza I get from one store in Austin is really good and the crust is almost like getting a famous Ray’s in NY, thin, slightly chewy, but not crispy or burned, but in San Antonio where I live now it is horrible, crust is like just horrible, gave them another chance tonight with the new “recipe”, (ordered two mediums off the coupon), new recipe or not, it’s just bad, individual store training is not consistent, they are just throwing pies, not caring what comes out.

  205. mswojo | on February 1, 2010

So, what Dominoes is telling me is that they admit that they have been serving crap pizza for the last 5 years. They only decided to change their recipes when they realized they were losing money.

Oh, buy the way, they’ll sell you two pizzas for $5.99. And believe you me, they really taste better.

Really! Why would they lie to you

  206. Justin | on February 1, 2010

I’ve always liked the old pizza and I’m not entirely sure what people are talking about when they say it tastes bad. Dominos from every place I’ve had it in Connecticut and Florida have tasted exactly the same and I always enjoyed it. I just ordered my first pizza with the new recipe and I’m a bit apprehensive. How could they make a good thing better?

Anyway, I liked the old pizza. I’ll probably submit another post after the new pizza gets here to tell how the new pizza is.

    • Justin | on February 1, 2010

It was bad. Really bad. This is some of the worst pizza I’ve ever had.

  207. Justin | on February 1, 2010

So, I got the pizza I ordered and I really hate the new recipe. I have no idea what they were thinking.

  208. Tommy | on February 1, 2010

  209. anne | on February 1, 2010

very good pizza always order from a store in Miami service is great and what I love about dominoes online orderding is the fact you can track the order.

  211. Junior Power | on February 1, 2010

three mexicans and two white trash americans are not fit to judge what “good pizza” should taste like because “good pizza” is not fast food pizza. papa John’s, Pizza Hut, Dominoes; they’re all the same. If you want good, fresh pizza, make it yourself. IT’S CHEAPER TOO!

  212. Lisa Kanak | on February 2, 2010

We have tried the new pizza… the final bites were my favorite. I’d pay for pizza sticks like those! YUM. It’s still not the absolutely BEST pizza I’ve ever had, but I’d order it pretty much over any other delivery or pick up place around. It’s definitely a huge improvement.

  213. Sheila | on February 2, 2010

THE PIZZA IS AWESOME AT DOMINOS !!> Papa Johns is what is horrible- I swear they use fake cheese.
Thanks Dominos for creating an ever better pizza !!

  214. Donna CLaybrook | on February 2, 2010

The pizza has definitely improved as I switched to Pizza Hut from DOminos about 12 or 13 yrs ago, We tried the new pizza you serve and it is much better. However, You really need to work on customer service locally here in NC Raleigh to be exact. because I just got the worst customer service I ever had and will never eat another DOminos pizza again as long as I stay Black!! And, I am African American so I guess I will stay black for a long time.

  215. sonya wood | on February 2, 2010

I don’t remember what the original tasted like. My husband refused to order from dominoes. A few days ago my mother wanted a veggie pizza from dominoes because she loves the fetta cheese. Since my husband wasn’t home we went ahead with their pizza. I loved it so much that I just finnished ordering another one. With DVR I never watch commercials and so I just now found out the pizza has changed. My husband will have to get used to the idea of ordering dominoes now. Maybe he will like the new changes.

  216. Jessica | on February 2, 2010

Just ordered the new pizza and well the first one was great. The second one was really sweet. I am not sure why the second one had a sweet taste but the first one was spot on. Wouldnt ask for my money back even though the second was nasty. I would order again and give them another try to get it right.

  217. Martini | on February 2, 2010

I will never never purchase this product again. I’m trying to check out camers on PC website and Domino’s Pizza keeps popping up. Everytime I try to close it, it just pops up again. Very annoying Domino’s!

  218. Omima M. Edilbi | on February 3, 2010

you know regardless of how huge a change took place in te new pizza. I’m really happy dominoes is on their A game! i mean their website rocks, their delivery service is fast, they never screw up an order, their marketing and promotion is really starting to cater toward people who enjoy good taste as well as staying healthy! -i’m happy for them. I hope their annual sales continue to grow and their quality continues to improve. Good luck dominoes and rock on!

  219. Brandon Goad | on February 3, 2010

Domino’s Pizza sucks and still sucks. Whats up with the crummy underside now and the garlic was way to strong on the crust? They only thing they make that is good is thin crust. I dislike the old and new hand tossed. Papa Johns and Pizza Hut are way better hands down!!

  220. Evie | on February 3, 2010

I don’t like their pizza at all. I prefer to make my own, but on the occasions when we do get it out, I’ll get it from an Italian restaurant, not a ‘pizza place’. Much better quality. It may cost a bit more, but it’s worth it. Dominos used to be owned by some anti-choice right wingnut, so I vowed never to get pizza there. Now he’s sold the business, but I still won’t go there.

  221. Desi | on February 3, 2010

I HATED Dominoe’s pizza. I just thought it was the worst excuse for pizza but i’ve tried this new pizza and it’s delicious. I used to order from Papa Johns or try to go to a local pizza place up north but I’m enjoying the quick delivery and the NEW FOUND quality of this new recipe. Good job, guys!

  222. ra | on February 3, 2010

loved the sauce, hated the new crust…new sauce + old crust = winner!!!

  223. Roger F. Krell | on February 3, 2010

I actually never tried a Domino’s Pizza before. I always bought store frozen pizza or Pizza Hut’s but your Pizza with the works is really great tasting and the crust is top notch also. The seasoning is exactly how I like it.

  224. Illy | on February 3, 2010

We never used to order Domino’s – I always hated the pizza from our local store – floppy crust, flavorless toppings. One day they ordered it at our church – different store – and it was great! So I tried it again and same old bad pizza here. I can’t believe how stores a few miles apart can be so different.

However, I order frequently from our store here for the new pasta bowls and the sandwiches. The sandwiches are some of the best I’ve ever tasted anywhere, and the pasta bowl crust is a lot better than the regular pizza.

We’re trying the new crust tonight – hopefully it will be an improvement, but if not, will go back to ordering the pasta bowls and sandwiches.

  225. Customer | on February 3, 2010

First time ordering the new pizza 2/2 for 5.99. Wondering what the experience would be like. Was not a big fan at all for the old original taste and quality… We order one with philly stk (1) and mushroom and the other with chicken & mushroom (2). Here are my comments on the new taste/ with the thin crust….Pizza 1 and two were thin as ordered. The crust was good but should have ordered the hand-tossed if you want a bit more crust. The sauce was good as well. The toppings were good but the cheese—could have been way more cheesy so that was a bit disappointing. Other than that overall a nice improvement. Oh I ordered the Chocolate Lava cakes…they were warm and yummy. Personally I like a thicker fudge like filing but again it was still good. The food was also warm. On an scale from 1-10, I would give them a 8. Service was good as we ordered online and it arrive with in 35 minutes from start to finish.

  226. Illy | on February 3, 2010

WOW I REALLY LIKE THE NEW PIZZA! This is so much better than the old cardboard stuff. For the first time, we will be ordering pizza from Domino’s- not just the items like pasta bowls and the great sandwiches and the to-die-for lava crunch cakes. Great job, Domino’s! If you like the bread bowl pasta crusts you will probably like this new crust. Also, they offer white sauce now – yum!!!

sigh … as said before many times this new pizza isn’t all that great. i have been to 28 different states and over 70 different cities and, i’m disappointed. there was way to much garlic sauce on the crust the crust was dusty and tho they did improve the flavor a lot the crust still chewed like cardbored. the sauce was better that i can say for the new pizza the only problem is, they never seem to give you enough of it, then your left with a simi dry pizza (and this seems to be the case everwhere i have been) the cheese i would have to say averaged out compaired to the original type. all and all i would say the old pizza was a 3/10 and the new pizza is a 5/10, it is an improvment but not by much so i say they should give it 1 more try.

  228. William | on February 3, 2010

I stopped ordering there over 5 years after getting sick of the failed attempts at pizza covered in tire rubber cheese. Show up at my door in Iowa and we will see if it really is as tasty as you claim.

  229. Amanda Jones | on February 3, 2010

I would eat dominos every once in a while if it was around and i had no other pizza place. I love the new recipe, I really enjoy the crust and sauce and I actually brag about it. I totally love it, the change of the company complete was a great idea however it is very difficult most company’s cant do that. Everyone remembers Coke a Cola change and that did not go over so well. However i think this change was better and is more appealing. Great Job I think.

  230. ann | on February 4, 2010

I think you improved the pizza this time. And your commercials convinced both my husband and me to retry Dominos. You had a guy holding a sign on the curb for a good priced pizza, so we got a couple. They were good! The sauce was good, the crust flavorful and cheesy, and I could taste oregano somewhere in there. Very good. We’ll be back.

  231. Jeanette | on February 4, 2010

I don’t like that sauce…they put on too much, so now I get no sauce…but I really love their food…I just started eating it again. The delivery is a lot better now than when I remember it, and this guy has manners.

  232. daisy | on February 4, 2010

it was cool wen i see la llorona

  233. Felicia Rutherford | on February 4, 2010

We just had our new pizza delivered, my daughter – who barely eats anything – yelled, OOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUU Mommy, this is Good! I agree! It is markedly different and quite delicious.

  234. Xander | on February 4, 2010

I WISH TO GOD that it was an OPTION for wether or not the crust has the garlic butter on it or not. The Domino’s pizza that I loved and revered has been TOSSED OUT and reformatted into a pizza version of The Bread Bowl Pasta. MAKE IT AN OPTION!!!!

  235. Matt | on February 4, 2010

i’ve been ordering pizza from dominos for the past couple years at my local dominos here at Norfolk, NE and i must say. the new pizza has VASTLY improved from the old recipe. not to say that i didn’t like the old recipe, just saying the new one is MUCH better than old. Kudos to you Dominos!

  236. Donna R | on February 5, 2010

Wow, what an improvement…. just had the best pizza in a long time, Italian Sausage and Mushroom, the crust rocked, chrispy and seasoned to perfection, the cheese was just right, and the sauce was excellent.

Way to go Dominos, I have avoided your pizza for over 10 years, not any more, next pizza we get will be from dominos.

  237. Mike Scott | on February 5, 2010

Orlando has a ton of Dominos and each one is different. The one that delivers to my job is awesome and the people are friendly.. my house is pure garbage. It’s like night and day??

  238. April | on February 5, 2010

The new pizzas are great – the crust is a lot better. Now if they could only add consistent service, not having a call center in another country (the norm for NYC), and some garlic butter to their orders I’d be in heaven.

  239. Domino-no-no | on February 5, 2010

i Just ordered a new hand-tossed pizza and the man that delivered it was obviously a complete racist. he came to the door dressed in a white uniform with an outstretched right hand. when my dog growled at him, he threw a broken beer bottle i had been using as a flower pot at him and said “silence demon beast”. attempting to alleviate the awkwardness of the situation, i made numerous threatening references towards my own dog and offered him coffee and smalltalk about how to kill a medium sized dog like mine. he refused, citing he “didnt like coffee”.

Kudos dominos in your choice to employ the racist, but next time make certain they like coffee.

oh, and the pizza was ok too.

  240. Barry | on February 5, 2010

Absolutely love the candor of the new advertising – where have you ever seen that before? And the pizza is way better than before.
My wife, formerly a total pizza snob, is a total convert.
Did I mention how brilliant the online ordering system is? This is seriously how all online merchants should work. It’s very impressive. You see it on the screen as you build it and 30 minutes later, it’s at your door. Brilliant. Someday, car manufacturers and many other retailers will work this way.
I feel bad about one thing: the fact that we’re no longer ordering from our local pizza shop in favor of this major conglomerate, Domino’s.
Hey, corporate guys, call me if you want participants if your focus groups.

  241. Quay | on February 5, 2010

I got a free pizza from dominos for buying some board game. The crust was a bit burnt BUT it was 10000 times better than dominos had ever tasted. In fact, it beat papa johns which used to be my favorite chain pizza. It was good enough to make me order again and pay for it this time
(but since i am paying if my crust is burnt i will demand a refund or something)

  242. Shannon | on February 5, 2010

There pizza isn’t bad around here. Only issue I find is they NEVER EVER wipe the pans out before reusing them. There is nothing but left over burnt particals all over the bottom of the pizza. That’s just gross. Now their pasta bread bowl are my new favorite. Never have that issue with those!

  243. Dee | on February 5, 2010

Do those who dont like the new pizza not understand the concept you dont have to change pizza places, if you loved the old one that much and arent just whining for the sake of it like people love to do on the net…
Then just say, CAN I HAVE IT THE OLD WAY?
My god seriously HOW HARD IS THAT? They give you the darn option…
Enjoy your cardboard, better yet your a waste of domino’s go to the grocery store for it!!
    And btw….
ABSOLUTLY LOVE THE NEW PIZZA!!! I’m Italian and grew up with more pizza and pasta then one can imagine, and the extra garlic is to die for!! Keep up the awesome work!!!

  244. Dan Avery | on February 5, 2010

I tried your “new and improved pizza” two weeks ago. You should be driven out of the United States for selling such crap. It was the most awful tasting pizza I ever had. Thankfully I live in northern NJ and we have plenty of good local pizza parlors. Go back to the old pizza or go out of business.

  245. jac | on February 5, 2010

Just had the pizza. They sent me a plain cheese instead of a pepperoni. crust was good, a bit to buttery for my taste. Not enough sauce and we ordered extra sauce. Lack of sauce was a problem for the bellingham ma store on the old style pizza also. I liked the old style dominos for 20 years, but the bellingham store made such an inedible pizza (just moved to the town) I stopped ordering. The new style from them is better but still not great. Maybe I will try another location.

  246. Jan | on February 5, 2010

We’re total pizza addicts in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. We’ve ordered the new pizza and enjoy it. I guess we could ask folks from other places, “Was it good for you?”

  247. Teresa | on February 5, 2010

    There pizza is really bad

  248. vallie | on February 5, 2010

In the past I would never have ordered Dominos, and I hate doughy, thick pizza crust. Since Dominos was our closest pizza place, we gave up eating all together. But two weeks ago my husband brought home the Brooklyn style pie, mushrooms and olives, and I really liked it. Tasty, thin crust, not doughy or thin sauced. I was really surprised that it came from Dominos. Until I taste differently, we’re ordering from Dominos tonite, in fact – it’s raining cats and dogs and I’m looking forward to it. I’m one of those people who likes it the next day, too.

  249. Dissapointed | on February 5, 2010

Two weeks ago I decided to try Dominos for the first time in 17 years and I was impresed with the quality and taste. Their new recipe was a winner. Today I ordered a pizza from the Corpus Christi, TX store on Airline 7:10pm February 5th and I was dissapointed at the dissaster they delivered – overcooked/burned and chewy. Skimpy toppings – there was over an inch of empty edges and the actual pizza is nothing like the pictures they show on-line. The pizza was dry and all the sauce was gone. Even the best recipe can be destroyed by a cook that does not care. I could taste the apathy that went into the pizza. So much for wanting me as a repeat customer. I’ll try them in another 17 years.

  250. Matt | on February 5, 2010

The new recipe is impressive. It brought about thoughts of the old Pepsi challenge where Coke drinkers picked Pepsi because it was sweeter, while corresponding studies found that the sweetness was good for a first impression, it was distasteful while drinking a can or more. The initial impression of Domino’s new recipe was the same – first slice was great, but the over-buttered crust made eating more than a few slices difficult. My pizza had a 1/4 inch layer of butter-spice mix (similar to microwave popcorn butter) on the inner edge of the outer crust ring. I am sure the head chef did not intend for the pizza to be made like that. I’ll keep my mind open and see if another location make a better pizza than the Fayetteville, NC location did.

  251. MARK WHITWORTH | on February 5, 2010

WE NEED A THIN CRISP PIZZA WITH THE LOGO OF EAT MORE PIZZA AND DONT BE STUFF.DO BETTER THEN THE OTHER COMPETION AND GIVE A FREE TOPPING ON ALL YOUR PIZZA. START SAYING WE HAVE THE BEST PIZZA. GO FO IT.

  252. Dean | on February 5, 2010

As an ex-Dominos employee, I can tell you for a fact pizzas are very different at not only different restaurants, but on different nights as well. Often when a store runs a promo, they put extra cheese and go heavier on the toppings and the pizzas come out very good during promo time. But after the promo ends, the cheese and toppings will thin out. It’s a simple marketing strategy really – when there’s a good promo and you can get pizza cheaply, people will jump on it. If they make it good enough for people to remember then they come back and order more…

    • Albert | on February 6, 2010

I am shocked. I had no idead this was how it was done. I was under the impression that the pizza was supposed to be the same at every store in every state. The inconsistency you say is a destroyer. If the quality and taste is not exactly the same, then what’s the point?

  253. SeattleN | on February 5, 2010

Thumbs up in Seattle. The S McClellan St store in central Seattle has been exceptional, with a few quirks in missed items, but the food has been fresh and hot 99% of the time and the taste recently has been pretty darn good. I liken it to a boutique pizza experience we had recently – abysmal – a large pizza which was $37.00. The similar pizza size and toppings (minus a couple over-the-top culinary buzzwords that seem to be prevalent in Seattle) at this Dominos store was pretty darn tasty, cost roughly $14 and got to us rocket fast.
I always appreciate the tracker, and the surveys seem to be useful.
    Good job.

  254. Chris | on February 5, 2010

I give them credit for trying. They may have problems due to local stores not doing what they are supposed to do, but for them to try a whole new approach I am willing to give them another try!

  255. anon | on February 5, 2010

i cant believe people take the time to comment about pizza…

  256. Debby | on February 5, 2010

I always loved this pizza but before I saw the ad on TV, I bought one when friends came over and did not like the pizza. I probably won’t go back. I didn’t call Domino’s .

  257. Gord | on February 5, 2010

I used to love Domino’s Pizza and haven’t had it for many years. They just opened an outlet in my town and I’m looking forward to trying them. I hope the improvements can be found North of the border, as well?

  258. J. Hawkins | on February 6, 2010

Maybe I’ve always been lucky, but I’ve eaten from at least a dozen Domino’s locations and have always received an excellent pizza. I can’t say I see much difference now, the pizza tastes a little different, but it’s just as good as it used to be. You people are too picky.

  259. Caitlin Jones | on February 6, 2010

Dominos pizza has always been better than other delivery pizzas, but now it’s even better! I love it! I think it’s the perfect balance of gooey and crispy, and the new garlic butter on the crust is to die for! Thank you, Dominos!

  260. BulletMagnetEd | on February 6, 2010

I’m sorry I wasn’t in the focus group. My comments about Domino’s pizza would’ve made the blooper reel for sure. :)

  261. Kristen | on February 6, 2010

So, I really enjoy the zest at the crust. Oh it’s delicious. And I love the flavor of the cheese, and everything. You go Dominoes!

  262. Athena Karamanos | on February 6, 2010

dominos pizza is amazing , you guys need to calm down if u dont like it you must be retarded. go eat a salad or something claiming its too greasy or w.e

its pizza not some fancy french salad.

    calm down and enjoy it

cuss its actually pretty amazing. taste so good. and good price.
    kk? bye

  263. nancy t | on February 6, 2010

Apparently these “harshest critics” are not harsh enough! I never liked Domino’s and still don’t. I don’t see what the big “turn around” is here. All they did was take their old pizza and slather on some spices to mask the lack of sauce and basic flavor of the dough itself. I don’t know how the money-back guarantee works, but I’m certainly not going to complain to the local employees and ask them to make me a new pizza just because the corporate recipe is no good.

  264. DDDDD | on February 6, 2010

the new recipe is great!! I live in Michigan and I can’t believe how great the sauce is! huge step forward and a great ad campaign.

  265. Reydina | on February 6, 2010

i dont remember exactly how the old pizza tastes, but the new one is excellent. i love the garlic on the crust great touch

  266. Pizza Boy | on February 6, 2010

The new Dominos pizza is amazing! The crust and the added spices make it great. The one thing I didn’t enjoy was the sauce – it’s sort of sweet. I’m aware that I can ask for the ‘Hearty Marinara Sauce’ though, which I’m glad they left on because the old sauce and the new pizza really do it for me!

  267. Peacers | on February 6, 2010

i hate the new! more old

  268. Kreuz | on February 6, 2010

  269. Robert Pratt | on February 6, 2010

Tell us sweet little lies! Your product is a joke!!

  270. JD | on February 6, 2010

WOW. Hate to tell you guys this, but you have failed in a major way. I don’t care for the new pizza in the slightest. My family and I have all agreed that the sauce is just far too sweet, the cheese bland, and the crust just a slight improvement over the old recipe. As a matter of fact, we just got finished trying your new pizza for the last time. Personally, we feel that there was a lot of potential in what you guys used to have. The new recipe in our opinion makes your pizza taste a lot like Chucky Cheese pizza, of which we are not huge fans. Any true fan of Domino’s knew that the Ultimate Deep Dish was the way to go with the old recipe, and even though the sauce could of stood to be a little (very little) sweeter it was still a tasty pizza. The new one on the other hand, is just a disaster. You made one crucial mistake when you tossed out the old recipe Domino’s, you never stopped to consider those of us who preferred the old recipe over the competition. You remember, your customers. Oh, well. Definitely an EPIC FAIL.

  271. Christina Gregory | on February 6, 2010

I just ordered my pizza…and it was wonderful..no complaints here! Siloam Spring,AR Dominoes has always been good here. Sorry everyone had a bad experience.

  272. K S | on February 6, 2010

I just ate Domino’s pizza for the first time since 1998. My husband used to work at Domino’s, and we just got sick of it. Tonight’s pizza wasn’t bad, just cost more than I would normally be willing to pay. If they can find a way to reduce the price(just a dollar or two), we would probably order more often. Most of the time I make my own.

  273. Emily | on February 6, 2010

    All in all Dominoes–fail.

  274. Ellie | on February 6, 2010

*****Status Quo***** NOTHING has changed, still the WORST pizza and SERVICE. The crust was undercooked, sauce to sweet, cheese bland and a two veggie topping that we could count the pieces on one hand. Very disappointed!

  275. WT Council | on February 6, 2010

I have NOT ordered a Domino’s Pizza since 1985. I had one in 2009, and it was DISGUSTING!!!!
The fact that they used canned tomatoes and just poured them on the pizza was the worst thing ANY company could do!

Well, the crust is still NOT something i would recommend, however, the THIN CRUST PIZZA is the best pizza i have EVER eaten. Normally, I look forward to regular crust pizza, but the NEW thin crust has won me over. And, the sauce is SO GOOD!

  276. Jake | on February 6, 2010

I think the new pizza tastes great. I work in advertising and I get chills up my spine whenever I see this new campaign. I think it’s really brave and honest. Reading through many of these posts I’m amazed that they would allow such honesty. It’s refreshing for that alone. We’ve been ordering dominos for a year now even before they revamped their crust and all that… We were cool with it even though it wasn’t our top pizza choice. I think that the price was part of the issue there. Where else can you get a descent pie for so little? Top it with the new revamped situation and they’ve really earned my admiration. Well done dominos.

  277. Bee | on February 7, 2010

All you guys on here are “detarded” that’s right “dumb” and “retarded.” Find something better to do with your time then publish your unappealing comments that nobody wants to hear. Come on it’s pizza. Pizza doesn’t have to be consistent to your needs. To many people expect the best out of a pizza when it’s no different than any other food in the sense that if you go to mcdonalds or where ever that you will never get the exact good food you got yesterday or the exact bad food you got yesterday of which ever it may be. Good god get on with your life and worry about something more important the a @#$%ing pizza. You “detards.”

  278. Cameron | on February 7, 2010

The new sauce does not do any justice nor the recent horrible experience. Ordered a thin crust loaded as usual and the local store messed up the delivery with a BBQ sauce instead of hearty tomato sauce. Took over 45 minutes to receive replacement pizza. I gave the original messed up pizza back to the driver to ask him to have the manager call me – manager did not call me! Toppings on the second pizza did not come out as ordered online, nor did it match the original messed up pizza toppings which was correct. Sauce was terribly salty!
Being located in a population dense area of So.Cal, I have the luxury to choose from over 6 different pizza delivery companies around town – Domino’s needs to return their sauce to their original and give better customer service.

  279. chris gaskin | on February 7, 2010

Our Snellville Georgia Dominoes is awesome! Same delivery people and great pizza! lots of new topping and sauces. For $6 you could not make a from scratch pizza! Great quality for the price! Pizza hut and others pale in comparison. The authentic pizzarias are good but few and far between, and you deffanately couldnt feed a family of six for $20!

  280. bjsmith | on February 7, 2010

i live in brooklyn, and dominos is the worst freakin pizza joint around. let me tell you something about dominos from someone i know who used to work for them: it’s not real cheese, because they’re not cooked in real ovens. they’re heated under heat lamps to basically melt and congeal the cheese to the pizza. now is that something you would want to eat?
why even bother with this junk? dominos, you still fail.

  281. Jason | on February 7, 2010

The Domino’s in Ringgold, Georgia is awesome, except they don’t listen to you. You get the pizza with the toppings you requested most times, but if you want anything like “light this” or “xtra that” you’re screwed. They don’t care. I’ve asked many times… modified the order just to see if they’d comply. I’ve lived here 8 years and probably ordered from Domino’s 100 times. Quality of Ringgold Dominos = Excellent Listening to Customer = Less than zero.

  282. Brink | on February 7, 2010

My husband and I love the new Domino’s! We have for years bounced back and forth between Pizza Hut and Pappa John’s. I don’t think we have ordered from Domino’s since the 90’s! We love the freshness, the taste, texture, the seasoning, and even the website!!! Bravo Domino’s – welcome back!! Keep up the great work :-)

  293. That one guy | on February 7, 2010

Seriously, the new stuff doesn’t taste any different then the old stuff, and it’s still the same> Cardboard all over San Diego; pretty good dough, crappy toppings. Here on Oahu, good dough, great toppings. Disgusting sauce on Maui, and great sauce buthorrible everything else In northern Florida! I’ve worked for a few pizza places, and my personal opinion is you can’t beat Little Caesers price, Pizza Huts pan crust, Papa Johns ingredients, or Dominos gimmicks. That’s all I’m saying. I agree with pretty much everybody’s ideas above; depending on the different areas I’ve been in. Oh, and one more thing, another idea might be to have a standard at each store and actually keep it! Seems to work pretty well in the military; we can trade vehicles, even different units on a patrol, and all of our vehicles are laid out exactly the same, so we know what to expect, and the same with all the info on each teams AOR. (edited for grammar.)

EXCELLENT pizza! The sauce is amazing. It’s the only pizza we’ll buy and the only pizza we’ll eat. Thank you, Dominos! Your online ordering site is soooo easy. You can customize your pizza to precisely what you want. AWESOME!

  296. Ricardo Suarez | on February 8, 2010

Of course the pizza made by the head chef is going to taste great, but will your local Domino’s create the same pizza. It has to be dress right dress all across the franchise as such people has stated in the comments below.

  299. Jim Singleton | on February 8, 2010

My name is Jim Singleton from Gastonia N.C. and I’ve noticed somewhere along the line you people hav don something to your pizza and the help in your stores The help has no knowledge of how to satisfy the consumer nor do the know how to display a good pizza in the box anymore .The pizzas are thrown around it seems like making the ingreedience a poor disaster to open when I get it home..There is rubbery bread on it and the topping are limited as to where there is more bread than toppings, One can see the bread from the top of the pizza, and bearly any cheese on the pizza,I had to add more toppin on the last three that my wife and I had gotten, that gets expensive. So we have quit buying your pizza because of having to buy more cheese and meat to put on the pizza.

  300. Jim Singleton | on February 8, 2010

Service at the counter has no knowledgeee of what they are selling, and pizza is lacking a lot of taste and toppings. Taste like cardboard and a lot of dry bread with just a little topping

  301. Bobbi | on February 8, 2010

I live in Vancouver, B.C. Canada and I have to agree that they need to get consistency…in their product and in their service, otherwise it is a waste of time and money with the new marketing. The reason why i stopped ordering from Dominos, which is a 2 min. drive from house, is because I always got a different pizza, it was always a different look and taste! I now order from a local pizzeria and not only is the pizza delicious but there are no more surprises as to what I am going to get :)

  302. Beavis | on February 8, 2010

  304. Eva | on February 9, 2010

So the new pizza here in NM is incredible! The crust is a little too greasy, but the new sauce and the cheese really has made the difference. It has to be about the people working there as well… but for all the effort dominos is putting in to really make it a better pizza I give them credit and I will say the pizza tastes better.

  305. Hans | on February 9, 2010

I live two miles from the Dominos world HQ. I can tell you — the pizza out here is fantastic. It’s only gotten better since they switched recipes. Huge kudos to Dominos for having the balls to save their company in such a manly way.

Dominoes new pizza is delicous, i want another

  307. Kyle | on February 10, 2010

    Dear Dominoes,

Your company has made me a more focused, richer, and less hungry college student. I use your online ordering which is easy and allows me to keep working on my studies… ;)

Your online ordering has the coupons ON THE ORDER PAGE. Its genius. I just got my order ten dollars cheaper by using an online coupon. My wallet is heavy and I feel great about it.

Then finally, my favorite part of the whole experience: Charles. Charles is who makes my pizza every time and he is a god among men. He is the zeus of pizza makers, a legend in his time. When I see “Charles double checked your order to perfection at 6:03pm” I know I am in for greatness.

    Thanks for being awesome.
    Kyle

I haven’t tried the so called “New Domino’s Pizza” i hate all fake pizza places like Dominos, Pizza Hut and especiall Papa John’s. The only reason i eat it is becaue i am forced to by my wonderful wife and children. If had a choice i would rather go to a real pizzareia and have real pizza. Tonight because of the snow and being snowed in we are ordering the “new pizza” from dominos and i will see if they really changed anything about it and let you know on this comment post later on “if dominos will even allow me to post this message”

  309. SexieWASD | on February 10, 2010

I really didn’t like the old pizza, and I love pizza. I would order the sandwiches and pasta and lava crunch cakes which are awesome. With the new pizza I would rate it as third best in my town, and the first two are really good, with number one having been around far longer than I have been alive. Definitely a huge improvement. As for service they forget the drinks 80% of the time, but delivery is fast, and the food is hot and consistent.

  310. Kenny Ly | on February 10, 2010

Why there pizza look so fresh. And my Pizza look so greasy. I Just order a pizza and the box it fill with oil. So sad….

  311. | on February 10, 2010

Why there pizza look so fresh and my look so greasy.. i just order 1 pizza and 2 sandwish… the sandwish is find but the pizza is so greasy that the inside box is kinda wet… Look like me and my date cant in enjoy this pizza like there are. Disappointed

  312. Pizza Girl | on February 11, 2010

I got a pepperoni and mushroom pizza from the recently opened Dominoes down the street. Loved the crust-garlicky but I love garlic. Good texture, soft inside, crunchy outside. Perfectly cooked, not too greasy, much better than it used to be. Is it my favorite pizza? No, but its good. I like a cheese that stretches. This didnt but I think that would be my only real complaint. I like the new recipe.

  313. uptownjen | on February 11, 2010

The Domino’s in the 5900 Block of N. Clark Street in Chicago always gets it right! The old pizza was always good, but the only way you can shut me up from singing the praises of the new stuff is to get me one of their new pizzas and shove a piece in my mouth. I have even cut back on toppings so I can fully taste the crust and sauce. My husband and I were fairly regular customers, but we are now once-a-weekers! Way to go, Domino’s (especially our local one…always fast and delicious!)

PS I hated the old Domino’s in Indiana, so I agree that a lot of the quality of service and product varies by location.

  314. Tiffany Rainey | on February 11, 2010

I love my Domino’s! None could ever touch them on the matter of cost, but now with this new recipe they just take every prize. In my humble opinion, Pizza Hut, Papa John’s etc. can no longer compete. I’m excited that they have started this movement. Hopefully other pizzerias will catch on and catch up. I’m a Domino’s girl all the way.

  315. Katrina | on February 12, 2010

Way to go, Domino’s! I love the change!

  316. Loving Domino’s Again | on February 12, 2010

I just ordered Domino’s Pizza about an hour ago. It was nothing less than perfect!!! I love the new recipe and they have won me over. I will order from Domino’s from here on out. This is coming from someone who hasn’t enjoyed Domino’s in almost 10 years. Domino’s YOU ROCK and I love this new taste!! You can’t please everyone, but looking at the comments, you’ve pleased more than you have in the recent years. Thank you for listening to your customers.

ps. I’ve always been appreciative of your good customer service.

Oh well no one eles really delivers around here in Howard, ohio I have hopes of this great new pizze!!!!!

  318. Kevin | on February 12, 2010

I gave it a try and tried to be fair but the crust still sucks! They need to start over and make a nice soft crust that has some taste to it. Putting garlic butter on it dont cover up a bread thats too dry. Sorry, I wouldnt order it again.

  319. audriene green | on February 12, 2010

domino you did a good job love your new pizzia

  320. Daniel | on February 12, 2010

I very much enjoyed the two pizzas we bought in Indiana. The crust was very good, and full of flavor. The rest of the pizza was good quality and nothing like what Domino’s used to be. Healthy amounts of toppings. This pizza is definitely unique and original, and top quality. I commend Domino’s for their willingness to remake the pizza. If you haven’t had the new pizza, then you might as well have never eaten at Domino’s, because this is a whole new pizza place.

  321. Bruce | on February 13, 2010

Dear Dominos PIzza Chefs and company officials,
After reading a few of the many comments available on this webpage, i get the feeling that a lot of the complaints are based on the inconsistancy store-to-store. I largely agree but what i do know is tha the stoer which services my delivery area is VERY GOOD in regard to making pizzas the right way. In my humble opinion, Dominos beats Papa Johns hands down. The Brooklyn Style pizza isn’t as good as one can get in the 5 boroughs of New York but for a multi-faceted franchise store, it comes really close. If there was any one thing that could be done to ensure that every store be consistent and that a pizza bought in Honolulu or Hoboken was the same, it would be a great thing. I’m very glad my local store consistantly produces high-quality pizza.

  322. Scott D | on February 13, 2010

Both my wife and i quit eating dominos pizza because it tasted like greasy cardboard… now its ok… tastes more like pizza dipped in grease… a good move

  323. Steve | on February 13, 2010

I haven’t had Dominos since college when they had the old deep dish that was so good. The pizza I just got is great, comparable to Papa Johns in quality, but the sauce is amazing, I like the kick.

  324. j | on February 13, 2010

good service, much better product .it’s absurd to think about the diff in compensation, though, between the’pizza chef’ and the driver who may drive 10 miles round trip to get a dollar tip or completely stiffed by some cheap turd.

  325. Aamarie87 | on February 14, 2010

It got to the point where I had friends that worked at Dominos and I wouldnt even eat the FREE pizza they offered me, yes it was that bad… A friend ordered the new recipie last night and it was AMAZING.  I was shocked.  Now, after reading these reviews I am nervous about the pizza I just ordered from a different location.  But my favorite thing about the new pizza is def that crust, the garlic powder is an awesome touch! I think for once in my life I will pick Domino’s over Papa Johns. But only if they keep it up!!

  326. Ian Friley | on February 14, 2010

I have to admit…I have been a big fan of Domino’s since I was a child, especially their thin crust. The only pizza I’ve had that I didn’t like was their standard $5 pizza. It tasted like cardboard. But that’s too be expected since its a cheap formulaic pizza that they can make quick and toss out for a quick buck.

I just ordered the new pizza and I’m hoping not to be disappointed with the changes. Remember, I liked them before.

    Wish me luck.

I just had my new Domino’s.
It was two large deep dish meatzzas.
I always felt the Domino’s crust or dough was like eating the card board box it cam in.
The new Domino’s is like the Pizza Hut without all the oil.
The difference is that the price of the Domino’s is $10.00+ more for my order.
Pizza hut is doing a $10.00 any size, any crust, any topping.
    Pizza Hut $23.00 – Domino’s $34.92
Cut the price to match Pizza Hut or I will just go back with Pizza Hut.

    • Christy M | on February 19, 2010

Pizzahut is just having a deal/sale with their 10 dollar pizzas. I just paid $29.56 from dominos and got a 2 litter, chessy bread ticks, 2 oven bake sandwichs and a large peporoni pizza :)

GREAT PIZZA, I LOVE THE NEW PIZZA CRUST, DOMINOS IS THE BEST.! TASTES DELICIOUS

  331. Bostonian | on February 15, 2010

I was really excited to order dominos but after receiving the pizza, very disappointed. Their hand tossed was OK, but DO NOT order their THIN- CRUST. It’s absolutely awful. Crust was burnt and it just did not taste good. I liked the new way but my husband preferred the old way… But I’ll let you decide… Just don’t get the thin crust though!

  332. sky | on February 15, 2010

SO i just my two pizza opened the box and for once the pizza is HOT!! success now the bite …… OMG its great all i gotta say is this can not be real… DOMINOES is on the right track to my pizza soul GREAT job!

  333. THE PIZZA JUDGE Esq. | on February 15, 2010

I live outside of THE pizza capital of the world; CHICAGO. The problem is that 10 miles from the city one might as well be in N.Y.C. or California as far as Pizza is concerned. (Come on, Chicago stuffed deep dish rules) Excepting a great Chicago pie, Domino’s takes down Papa John’s and Pizza Hut hands down and is better than most local shops as they don’t understand pizza. Next time I”m in denver I’m going to order Donmio’s for sure. ;)

  334. Christian | on February 15, 2010

I like the old pizza better.

  335. Eril Hyvan | on February 17, 2010

Dominoes, Papa Johns, and Pizza hut are all the same thing, chains. Just like burger king, Mcdonalds, and wendys. They are the “fast food” version of pizzerias. Saying that these pizzas are the best ever is like saying a burger from one of those three is the best burger ever. Same goes the other way, if you went up to someone and told them that you had the worst mcdonalds burger ever they’d probably look at you like you were an idiot especially if there was a hometown diner five minutes down the road. You want good pizza try you hometown pizzerias.

  336. Mommyonline | on February 17, 2010

I stopped eating Domino pizza about 9 years ago. I HATED everything about it. After hearing about their new pizza my husband and 3 kids gave them another try. We enjoyed the pizzas and will be ordering again (and again) :)

  337. Spikewolfsoul | on February 17, 2010

  341. Jon | on February 17, 2010

So we just ordered some Domino’s Pizza; we’ll see if it’s really new and improved. For years Domino’s has been a byword for cheap, bottom-of-the-barrel pizza. Hopefully that’s changed. BTW, totally agree that the best pizza is in local pizzerias, but unfortunately they rarely deliver, plus being military we move so much it’s hard to get to know a good local place.

  342. Ryan Battles | on February 18, 2010

I am stationed at Fort Bragg, NC (Reilly Rd location) and I am eating as of this moment the new DOMINOES pizza and I have to say that it is a GREAT IMPROVEMENT from the older pizza. It is always a great thing when a company re-invents itself according to the requests of its customers. Great Job Dominoes for stepping up to the plate when so many companies are bowing out!

  343. Snaketek | on February 18, 2010

I like to support my Michigan companies. Plus, their pizza does not suck anymore. I order it all the time.

  344. c man | on February 19, 2010

  345. c man | on February 19, 2010

pizza hut is also delicious but dominoes rules

  346. Kevin | on February 19, 2010

Here’s my question…why is it routinely a problem for an order to be delivered that’s correct? No exaggeration, I have had to send back, or call the store to get the rest of an order, or to have a sandwich made with the ingredients I asked for. Last time I had ordered a pepperoni pizza and a sausage sandwich but wanted no banana peppers on it. So of course it had what I didn’t want. Time before that I ordered the same pizza as always, the philly sandwich MEAL and it had no chips, and then the driver asked me, do you want them? Well of course I want them I paid extra for them. I’d say at least 5 times in the last 6-8 months that has happened. Annoying it’s not, it’s unprofessional. I order online, it’s right there…why is it so hard for the order to be right? I’m waiting on my order now, 2 medium pizzas and 1-2Liter bottle of Coke…let’s see what happens.

  347. Jennifer E. | on February 19, 2010

I have always liked Dominos pizza, we order it all the time and now since youv’e changed it, its great! Its even better than before!

  348. angel | on February 19, 2010

the pizza does tastes ALOT better, i just wish the would offer more meat on the sandwiches or better deals on them. not everybody likes to buy 2 sandwiches and a pizza how bout 4 sandwich prices instead of just 2. think about it

  349. Samantha | on February 19, 2010

New pizza is an improvement but I usually just order the Brooklyn Style and am very happy with that!

  350. Christy M | on February 19, 2010

Hahaha I like the 2nd guy and last guys reaction, this is the first I heard of the new pizza, I just ordered some so i hope its all its cracked up to be :)

And I know this is off the subject, but I really LOVE their online ordering system!

  351. Jeremy Roberts | on February 20, 2010

After not having Domino’s for years, we saw the new commercials and decided to give it a chance. We tried the hand tossed and the crispy thin crust. Both crusts had very little flavor and had the texture of cardboard. Both were overcooked. There was very little cheese on either pizza. Needless to say, our experiment failed and we will not be ordering Domino’s again. Very disappointing.

  352. Gotacustomerback | on February 20, 2010

I am in love this the thin crust pizza. It is the bomb. And if you don’t try the lava cake you are missing something great !!!! This it the 5th time I ordered from Domino’s. They got a customer from me. I did not like them before and quite ordering years ago. Glad I gave them another chance. I time when I ordered they forgot my dessert so I called and they would send out a coupon for it. Well never recieved it and just ordered a pizza on line (real cool to watch the process of the order) so I called and they are giving it to me in this order. Very nice communications.

  353. bombkitten | on February 20, 2010

For the first time since i was little Domino’s has better pizza than its competitor Pizza Hut. The new crust is simply fantastic, i used to always have to pay the 2 dollars extra for deep dish because i just could not stand there old crust. Just an Exceptional pie, not to mention its like gorgeous. lol

  354. martie carter | on February 20, 2010

Domino’s is our new favorite pizza. We love the Philly Cheese Steak. It really has gotten 100% better. Now, please don’t raise the prices 100%.

  355. Stefani | on February 20, 2010

    its gross…. still.

  356. Mindy | on February 21, 2010

I think the new pizza is even worse than before. The crust was terrible and dry. All of the ingredients completely lacked flavor. I’d rather eat a frozen pizza.

  357. carole kofahl | on February 21, 2010

some of your cooks don’t cook i hate RAW BREAD ON A PIZZA

  358. PIZZA LOVER | on February 21, 2010

I’m not a fan of the change. The crust tastes like a crapload of salt is poured over it … and while I’m sure there are some spices in it, too, … the bottom line taste is overwhelmingly salty and the grit you end up with on your fingers sucks.

  359. Donna | on February 21, 2010

I’ll get back to you, we are waiting delivery of our own ‘option’ picked pizzas. It’s been a good 10 years since I’ve eaten Domino’s Pizza. They did taste like cardboard, ketchup and had a frozen taste – so…we’re going to give them the opportunity to impress us after 10 yrs of lost business from us.
I did like the meter that shows the order progression…..that was a cool touch. All that matters in the long run is the quality and taste of this pizza.

  360. McSweeney | on February 21, 2010

  361. Dan | on February 22, 2010

  362. Justin Anderson | on February 23, 2010

The old domino’s pizza was like a greasy sponge with toppings and so I would only order Papa Johns. The new Domino’s pizza however is truly great. Domino’s I am coming back!

  363. Mike Fred | on February 23, 2010

    The BEST pizza YET!!!!
    Great work dominos!

  364. Elizabeth | on February 23, 2010

I like that Domino’s put effort in trying to make their pizza better. Some of my friends love the new pizza (they also eat unhealthy frozen food, so their opinion is invalid) , but as a chief I would have to say that the new crust is covered in fake garlic. It’s disgusting. Please use fresh ingredients, it’s the key to any great meal.

  365. Dewman | on February 24, 2010

Coming from the New Haven, CT area, we are spoiled when it comes to pizza. This new “formula” is a HUGE improvement from the previous pizza’s that we have gotten from Domino’s. Anything would of been an improvement but this is actually better than some “real” pizza places in our area.

  366. Steve | on February 26, 2010

Awesome! Just tried it. Was VERY GOOD. WAY TO GO DOMINO’S!!!

  367. TP | on February 26, 2010

I used to be a customer of Pizza hut/Papa Johns, never tired Dominoes (in last 3-4 yrs) due to their bad reputation. Ordered 2 Medium -$5.99 pizza. It was very well made. Had good choice for toppings and crust as well as sauce tasted alright. I am pretty satisfied for the value for money.
We definitely try it in future.

  368. Jason Noid | on February 26, 2010

  370. Fanci | on February 27, 2010

Used to hate domino’s. Always a pizza hut girl or pappa johns for thier cheese bread. Now Domino’s is all we order. Even my twin who was the same as me about pizza hut now orders dominos. Love the new sauce, has a little zing in it. The spice in the crust is enough to taste without burning your mouth. Nice little surprise. Only issue I had was their white sauce. Its not a cream alfredo but some wierd tasting sauce with a vinigear taste. Called and told them how much I didn’t it and sure enough without any issue they told me I would have a free pizza the next day when I ordered it . Thier bbq sauce is yummy with chicken and pineapple. Love the ordering thing that shows how its bein done. Thier cheesey bread is really good too. Not the normal texture your used to but springy and moist with a crunchy outside.

Yep! We’re converts…uh, back to Domino’s! After tolerating it in college, when we had little money, then rejecting it completely, for years, once we had enough cash for better quality, we’re back. When a business lays themselves naked to their customers, old and new, asking for another chance, I’m a big believer in giving them that chance. We did, and we’re thrilled! Thanks, Domino’s!

  380. stephen | on February 28, 2010

Puffery, saying the pizza is improved.
This is an EXAGGERATION if there was ever one.
See you in that same Court, Domino’s.

  381. SR | on March 1, 2010

Ya know, when I was in school, my teacher would sometimes order pizza from Domino’s, and all the other kids were completely ecstatic. Except for me, who actually cared what I was eating. To them, it was a party time. To me, it was just an extra meal with… That guy had it right… Carboard with pepperoni and tomato sauce.

Now, I’ve just had my first new Domino’s Pizza, and…. MAN. That thing is too good. If I was a kid, and my teacher chose Domino’s for a pizza party, I’d crap my pants from joy.

No. I’m not kidding. This pizza’s good.

As for their pasta, though… I think it could use more work. Like… less watery, more cheesy. (Chicken Alfredo Pasta Bowl thingie)

But what the heck, I ordered a pizza from a used-to-be-totally-crap pizza place, and now I’m rewarded with awesome pizza and a decent pasta. High-freakin-five, dude-who-made-this-awesomely-awesome-pizza-goodness-that-is-the-new-Domino’s-Pizza!

  383. HungryHungryHippo | on March 19, 2010

I LOVE the new dominos pizza. I hated it,i swear it tasted like cardboard and ktchup but now OMG !! ITS THE BOMB! hehe. I am totally addicted to the philly cheese steak and look delivery/mishaps what not. PHILLY CHEESE STEAK IS SLAMMIN!!! The chicken habanero sandwich is delicis!!!! and omg the little chocolate lava crunch cakes. I love it flat, tossed or in a sandwich. The flat one is cut into little squares which i think is smart and if its fresh not overcokked will delight your sense. Hehe With the sandwiches I order extra meat and cheese and it can get pretty skimpy if u don’t. I’d rather order online cuz its a bit cheaper and u work with the coupons versus the store where the coupons cant be used as u wish. But the new dominos blows those suckers outta the box. I’m from brooklyn, nyc . You know whats also go, this crab pizza at this place on 14th street I think its called artichoke. O MAN that was good. pretty pricey like almost 5 bucks a slice, a slice not a pie like good olke dominos cheap where u can get 2 med /2 top for 5.99 each. where for 2 n half reg slices u get 2 pies for the price. so I got with domino, who philly cheese steak I crave.. no lie.

  384. TIFFANY | on April 16, 2010

i hate HATE the new pizza. That funky cheese was awful, there went my money in the TRASH. I emailed a complaint and they gave me another pie, without the drenched crust. Still nasty with that FUNKY CHEESE. will i ever just get money back like they said? NO! liars that don’t care about longtime customers. And I haven’t had anything from there since last year.

  385. Breezy | on April 23, 2010

I think the new pizza is awful! The only thing I like about it is the crust. The last 3 times I have had it, I have gotten sick and been sick for days. Same with others I know.

My boyfriend and I (college students) hate the new pizza. We’ve tried it twice and the crust was overly garlicky and this new pizza has no cold midnight snack/morning after value that the old one had. I miss the old pizza.

When can be the iphone 5 most likely to be released? I have verizon and would like to have the apple iphone when my agreement is up in June, I want to discover if the apple iphone 5 is coming out anytime in the future, for the reason that if so, I’d stick it out longer to obtain that instead of the apple iphone 4.

  429. Julie in Austin | on January 25, 2010

Well … this comment might never escape moderation. Dominos made a mistake calling attention to their “improvements” because the pizza I just ate is not as good as what I remembered before I switched to Papa Johns. They are still better than Pizza Hut, but behind Papa Johns, who is behind Manga’s (local Austin chain).

    Now for the critique –

There was too much grease / oil in the pie itself. This caused the crust to be overly limp, rather than crispy.
The crust didn’t taste like cardboard — it tested like oil — but the texture was completely like the cardboard on the back of a notebook. Very glossy, smooth, weird mouth feel.
The toppings were the best part of the pie. I’d pay to have those toppings on someone else’s crust.
The sauce was nice, but overpowered by all that oil.
The driver was nice. I’d pay to have him deliver those toppings on a different crust.

Regarding the comment made by someone who claimed to have had diarrhea — the way my stomach is making noises, I have a feeling this will be a ricochet pizza. If I were to hazard a guess as to the cause, it would be all the oil in the pie.

Haven’t decided on requesting a refund yet, but I am leaning in that direction.

  430. | on January 27, 2010

I had the same problem… I wrote it down in the comment section of the online order and they corrected the ammount of oil… I think the change kind of took a while to work it’s kinks out in the local stores… of course there are always the guys who don’t do it right

  431. Pixie | on January 28, 2010

I would say that the person who made your pizza messed up. You sound like you are describing a pizza very different from what we received. Ours were perfect and delicious, not greasy at all!

  432. Dan Avery | on February 5, 2010

You’re right: too greasy! The bacon pie tasted of bacon and dripping garlic butter, the crust beyond terrible. The mushroom pie all you could taste was garlic butter. The grease in the bottom of the boxes stained the tablecloth. The crust was awful. I didn’t ask for a refund but got a thin crust pizza made the old way – it was delicious. Obviously the people that think this pizza is good don’t live near New York City and have no idea what real pizza is supposed to taste like. The only pizza I had worse than this was from a Pizza Hut in West Virginia about 15 years ago!

  433. Tad | on March 18, 2010

would you please quit calling the pizza a pie? You’re a female tard in Austin, not an old school guido from Brooklyn.
